Turns out that college DOES let me use a laptop, but they say it isn't ok to lug around a 15.6in
Why do they care, it's not like it's them that have to carry it around.
Thinkpad x61? Shame about the 1024x768, but it isn't much worse than the shit Lenovo serves up now.
I wouldn't consider them shit to be honest. But my needs seem mixed, having that low resolution puts me off from getting one. And I doubt the performance would be suitable or even on par with the PCs they have. My dad uses an x201 though, and it seems decent. Very decent as it uses an SSD and has an i5. [editline]1st October 2012[/editline]
Why do they care, it's not like it's them that have to carry it around.
It is quite large for 15.6in. I don't have any space left in my backpack, and it isn't worth buying another battery for the machine if you think about it. Hell even an x131e outperforms my SL510's Centrino processor, AMD or Intel.
Netbooks rock I really want a 4GB stick for this one though, it constantly freezes but if you can get an ion/atom combo then you've got a decent amount of gaming on the go with a ton of battery life

My netbook works a'ight with 2GB RAM
How can you game on a netbook? Small hands?
I have small hands.
Any that you know? I only have a budget of £250.
Can't help you there, I'm using this proprietary gov't bullshit thing. Doesn't Asus still make newer EEEpcs? I'd start with those. [editline]1st October 2012[/editline]
How can you game on a netbook? Small hands?
USB controllers and puny weak hands I actually bloody love this tiny netbook keyboard :)

I found them shit and quite underpowered for £250, but it doesn't look like they build the ION ones anymore. Those bastards. I'll have a hard hunt.
There's some decent "Netbooks" that use the AMD E450 chipset, they're not too bad. I almost bought one until I found my refurbished Latitude, which was cheaper has a CPU that's twice as fast in quite a few benchmarks.
Haha I remember those things being the shit when the concept of netbooks was new and exciting oh how I crave for a thinkpad netbook like with the exact same design, only chibi-sized

I do need quite a small laptop for college use, and that it can run 7 and Minecraft, anything above 40-50fps then its grand. Come on T61, don't let anybody else bid on you!
I will bid one cent higher than what you can afford
I will bid one cent higher than what you can afford
I have plenty of money spare, I just don't want to spend it.

Real men make their own wallpapers This one turned out real nice
How did you stop your PSP from looking like it's been ragged up? Mine hasn't had any bad treatment but it still has quite bad scratches (mainly of the variety that only show up under light but w/e).
It is coming...I'm excited to put my little 32" into storage. Also excited to make my speaker wall shelves, the damn things weigh 30 pounds a piece because of their aluminum super dense enclosures.

Lemme try making it look as terrible as possible .... Okay, now that I checked, the screen is actually in very good condition. Probably because the previous owner had this screen cover thingy on.
Just dug up my PSP. It's absolutely covered in scratches, and it tells me 'internal error' every time I try to do anything :v:
