You guys remember that flash drive that fucked itself up? I have hope that it can be recovered. I did a raw dump of it (so I could try things without worrying about accidentally permanently wiping it), and then did a quick "strings ~/flashdump". Quite a bit of data came out, and I can recognize things in it. Worst comes to worst, I can recover the source files by hand, although strings trashes the formatting of it. I'm going to try some stuff tomorrow. Namely, reformatting it and using an undelete program to see what can be recovered.
I'll be grabbing my new laptop tomorrow :schmuck:
What'd be a safe temp for a 4.7GHz overclock on a 2500k? Around 60C right?
Mine hits 65c while rendering at 4.3GHz so...
I'm playing around with my V6GT's fan speed and at 135 (180 is the normal default) in the BIOS I get a max temp of 67C after 45 minutes of Prime95 , a lowest temp of 34C, and my average while gaming was about 62C to 64C. That all seem pretty safe or should I up the speed a little?
Safe. Only if it goes beyond 75c should you be worried.
What'd be a safe temp for a 4.7GHz overclock on a 2500k? Around 60C right?
I hit like 71c on my 2600k at 4.5 and 1.375
My ol' Q9400 hit 101c once while rendering on the stock cooler. Stock clocks too.
I hit 108 on a laptop and then it melted something and then it shut off forever.
I hit like 71c on my 2600k at 4.5 and 1.375
4.7 with the voltage like 1.3something
Was that laptop a core 2 duo macbook? I have a friend that can hit 103c on his. [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline] It also constantly sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

His old Macbook died suddenly too, I think it was the one with the faulty nVidia chip. [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline] But when it worked, it sounded like a motorbike.

Ever since the whole faulty Nvidia chip thing Apple has slowly been moving to AMD gpus in everything.
