Flashlight doesnt light up anything. [Source Engine]

Alright, so i've played source games for a long time, but just a while ago I got Zombie Panic Source on steam.
All was good and funky until I realized the flashlight didn't work properly.
In Zombie Panic, it seems to only light up those wooden boards that you can place. It wont light up walls or anything else.
Then I noticed CSS was also having the issue. I can only assume its an engine-wide thing.
In CSS, the flashlight lights up playermodels, but nothing else.
This pretty much means when I reach a dark area in a map, all I can do it stumble around in the darkness. It's incredibly irritating. It goes across all servers, even singleplayer ones.
So far i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both ZPS and CSS. I've also verified the cache for both. I cant seem to find anyone on google who has had the same issue.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Try changing the shadow quality in the settings
Tried this with low, medium, and high. No luck.
It also appears to light up props under func_breakable such as windows, wooden boards, metal boards, certain doors, and other things that can be broken in the map.
So really it just wont light up standard walls and boundries (99% of the map).
This could be a flaw in mapping.
They could be using model textures (VertexLitGeneric) instead of lightmap textures (LightmappedGeneric). Also dynamic brushes might cause strange lighting and produce no shadows.
This is probably not caused by your PC.
Well it cannot be a mapping problem when it affects all maps in both games.
Update graphics drivers.

Sorry I must have miss read, I thought it only occurred in Zombie Panic.
You should probably update your gfx drivers as Myst said.
What gfx card do you have?
Have a GeForce 6800
Old as shit.

Could be the card dying of age. You could try applying new thermal paste and dust everything out.
Get the drivers here: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk. Geforce 6800 is the Geforce 6 series.
I had a 6800, it died 3 years ago. There should still be drivers on Nvidia's site.
Updated drivers to newest version. Nothing changed.
I got some screenshots though. Used a vent which lit up for some reason.
Are you running at a different dxlevel?
I've heard gmod uses episode two's flashlight code (at least the shadowing parts anyway), I don't see why this could be much different. Have you tried validating episode two's caches and/or running it?
I have the exact same problem. It's not a problem with the maps.. cs_office & all the standard maps have the same issue. This never used to be a problem on my computer, It just seemed to magically happen one day (had been an issue for atleast 6 months now). My shadows have always been set to high also. 7600 GT graphics card.

I am having the exact same problem. The flashlight will only light other players or certain (I think
prefab) models in the map.
I have tried playing on standard maps and even creating my own server to test on.
Strangely I do notice the corresponding fps drop I usually get when the flashlight it switched on, but no lighting up of dark areas.
At the moment I am using an nVidia 7600GS with latest drivers but I can try in a few days with an ATI X800 so I will see if that fixes it.
Well I Just tried it with an ATI X800 PRO and guess what!?!?!
my flashlight is back working.
Is this just a driver problem? I have been using the 7600GS for a few years now with no problems...
