• Is it smart to Mix ram?

I have 3GB of Ram. It's currently fine but I would like my computer just to get a extra speed burst. I found a compatible stick of ram. Would it be smart to mix it?
From what I remember. As long as they are all DDR/ DDR2/ DDR3 sticks (depending on what you have), they should work fine together, they will underclock to the slowest stick mind you.
3GB is still a lot you'll probably not see a gain at all. In fact as Hexpunk pointed out it could make your existing RAM slower.
No because sometimes it creates problems.[BmB you fucking ninja] bandwith speed reduced is one of them. also if you have plans to go over 4GB make sure you have 64-bit OS or else it will produce nothing.
