• Troubles with getting my HTC Desire to connect to my PC via USB.

Title says it all really, I am failing to mount my HTC Desire as a storage device. When I plug it in, at best I'll get a message saying "USB Device Not Recognised." In my device manager, it looks like this: I have tried using various different drivers, including the ones in the android SDK, the ones from HTC sync and even some "one click installer" I found lying around the web. My phone is rooted, is running USB debugging and has been set to mount as a disk drive, so none of those are the issue. This is on Windows 7, but interestingly on my laptop (which is also running 7), the default drivers worked like a charm first time. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm really running out of ideas for things to try.
Do you have clockwordmod recovery flashed? You can try mounting usb from there

Does the phone work okay on another computer?

How would I go about purging windows of whatever shitty drivers it has installed now? [editline]fuck[/editline] Scratch that, my friends cable worked when I just tried it again. That's two cables I've busted now, are they just really flimsy or something? Time to buy a third one... :v:
I don't know where the usb cable to my Desire went, I'm using my old Motorola Milestone one :downs:

It should do
