  • I joined the steam group. This map is going to be [b]EPIC[/b]! I came up with four themes to my room. Anyone can use them. Here they are: 1)Random crushing spam of doom room - lots of crushing things, suggested by grea$emonkey 2)lolcat - Lots of lolcat textures 3)facepunch - facepunched themed area, maybe you have to fight garry, forget who suggested 4)citalol - a messed up, weird, screwy, oify version of the citadel, got the idea from a map called gm_citalol. Never played the map though. Anyway, I can't wait for the beta. Keep it up. [b]Edit:[/b] I'm going to provide a list of puzzles instead of all the mazes: 1)bosses 2)placing props and having players manipulate the environment to reach their goal 3)put peices together that fit kind of puzzle 4)ugh, damn this is hard 4)something with turrets like in the capital building of city 17 in hl2 5)something with teleporters 6)obstacle course 7)something with 0 gravity I'm spent with ideas. Play some of the js_coop build puzzle maps on hl2 deathmatch. They got some good ones.

The boss at the end is in the works and I'm having technical difficulties. That is a long way off though. I'm not sure what to do for a beta release yet, but I'll think about it. Writhing in pain, listening to "You spin me right round baby, right round, like a record baby right round round round", the choosen one must guide and controll the traps in the room.   • I got sprites working. Sorta. I've made two SENTs: Doom-ball and Minion-ball. The Minion-ball sprites work perfectly, but the Doom-ball sprite isn't big enough, and when I imported a larger imag into VTFEdit, it either crashes, or the sprite doesn't show up in the game. This is very annoying. Any thoughts?

  • It's back up now. :D In other news, I have the OIFY Doom-Ball and OIFY Minion-Ball working and they look great. Unfortunately the Minion-Balls pack a very powerful punch. I'll have to make them less lethal. I even added them to the map. They attack out of nowhere. This means that people will die quite often. If this is a large map with many challenges, then people won't want to repeat the same things over again if they've accomplished it already. I will probably make some teleporters that activate when people finish certain sections so that the players can skip ahead if they've completed that section. That means that if someone completed the fire room, a teleporter would activate and everyone would be able to skip ahead to the water room. Same would go for the other rooms. That way people wouldn't need to go through the fire room. I've fixed most of the weapon spawning problems and just need to fix a I/O problem in the furry maze. My idea for the alpha/beta is make it so when you complete all the sections, you are allowed to go to a room where the Doom-Ball is and tons of Minion-Balls. If you can destroy all of them, then you win and you will get some sort of prize. I'm not sure what yet. I'm waiting for the meatspin/shock room. Then I'll work on the pre-release/alpha map. I want this to be ultra-epic! More rooms! :D :D :D

  • This week is really bad. I have alot to do, and a lot of things to know. Damn, i hate school. Also, teta-bonitas ( correct? lol) harmless companion cubes are perfect for this map. Maybe just one. But it will scare the crap out of everyone. Edit: To convert a flashvideo to gif. There are theese options: 1. Get a youtube or whatever downloader. There are alot of those avilable. Search for youtube downloader on google. When you downloaded your file, it will be in flv file. Wich is the source format of a flashgame/movie/whatever. Now, what you can do is to open it in a flash decompiler or just a regular flash animation program... Flash mx or whatever. Now you can either export the frames contained in the file or just get some fileconverter software. There are alot and they are all expensive... *cough*warez*cough* So... If you don't bother to download a conversion program, just inport all the pictures into your gif program. Like Photoshop cs3- extended ofcourse :v:. 2. You can also download a swf file wich is the file that webbrowsers play for you. This is different than youtube and such because they use a premade flash flv player. You can download those manually but it takes a bit of work. Go on to like... Meatspin or something. Look in the page source and search for the text .swf. If it looks correct, copy and paste it into the webbrowsers address field. If it is correct, you should see your movie. Now, using a flashdecompiler you can extract the resources like music and pictures. And then put them together in a gif animation program. Or use the expensive converter.

It wouldn't work in a multiplayer game very well. The minion-balls scared the crap out of me anyway. :ssh: I think I can start making the final room for the pre-release today if I have time.
