  • The dark carnival highway map looks like it's missing a 3d skybox. Pretty good job on them though.

Pretty good job on them though.[/QUOTE] sadly yes theres no skybox, for some reason it was one of the main causes of prop/sky bugs, tried to work around it but i never could. sorry. hope whats there is worth it.   • Question: Is the actual park from dark carnival included in the highway or arena maps? Or has it not been (fully?) ported/cleaned?

Even if you have l4d2 mounted, you can select it in the list of maps without crashing since adding one to your files would in lay-mans terms count as a map replcement.

  • the bridge from the parish im also havin some problems porting. mostly from the skybox and prop limit. as for making a clean version of the map, will take a little bit longer. at the moment im porting the second level from the parish, the one with the park, next probably the mall. im doin the park now only cause i had already started it so, yea. should get a regular version released soon.

  • The yellow lighting in the clean versions really bugs me. The clean highway could use some fog and heavy optimization too.

  • I'd fucking love you if you dida clean version of he mall and atrium. Oh, and a clean version of the maps from "The Parish" (Especially the Bridge) would be awesome as well.   • I can't load L4D maps in Gmod, why is this? I read its on a newer engine.. so there's still no update for this? I own and have the game installed and it's checked in extensions.

  • I can't load them either, unless I downloaded them from here. My guess is something is hindering association between GMod and L4D, so it may be the newer engine problem you're suggesting.
  • L4D maps do not work in Gmod when mounted from the game. They have to be custom ported like these [url]http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1070172?highlight=left+4+dead+2+maps[/url]

  • to answer peoples question, you cannot load L4D and L4D2 maps directly with gm_mount or with the games mounted. the maps do not work because of different source engines. The maps had to be decompiled to vmf form, but that isnt the end of it. Some character sequences have to be replaced with the "," character, which XVI32.exe was used for. after that it can work in the source SDK hammer tool. that was how i ported the maps. To answer another question if people are wonderin why there arent any more, ive been on a long break at the moment but im currently working on more maps. Not from l4d unfortunately, but i am porting the maps from Postal III. soon to be releasing a few soon
