It's horribly low-poly and covered in low-resolution textures.

Also, it looks terrible when exporting it like that, hence why it's better to just recreate it. And, if he thinks that Source is terrible, why is he in the Garry's Mod Mapping Section?
I didn't convert the mall because I wanted to walk around in the town on foot, because we've never been allowed to do that before. We've all been to the mall. And of course it looks bad, I didn't include any bump maps and these maps were only seen from far away in a helicopter. DUUUUUUUUUUURP!

You proved nothing by putting that in a newer engine, by the way I didn't see a single shadow in that map
If you noticed the screen said "Lightning needs to be rebuilt" I never built any lighting. I just wanted to put it in game the quickest way possible because I wanted to walk and drive around.
Im just saying, you didn't prove anything here. You didn't put it in Source, which is OP's objective

I imported all of the models into a single map in the UDK Development kit, that's how. Not hard! As far as I know, you can't view multiple models at once with Noesis.
Viewing all in once would be easier for me :/

Further more, UDK is not a brush based engine, you can use nothing but meshes. Source requires brushes to even play on it properly. In which case, you cannot export only a model to source, and play on it and expect it to look the same as it did in another engine.

Danm I cant Save the map (compile) it take too many time and my Computer just Freeze out and I have to Reset it :O i was working on the Fence and some other things. This is shit :O i just cant test the map ive tryed to make more Fonc details but, it dont realy have a difference when i compile

Post the compile log.
Really? Because despite some spelling errors, I understood it fine, and I'm sure you did too. (Not everyone speaks/types perfect English you know.) Anyway, post the compile log, it's probably not because your map is too big and unoptimized. It could be something simple that you need to fix, because there's no way you added THAT much that it would crash like that. As for hammer "freezing", it's not that it freezes, it is just working too much to respond (weird way to describe it). Basically, you shouldn't really click anything while compiling, because then it seems like Hammer has crashed when it hasn't. Alternatively, you could also download this tool for Hammer and install this as I hear it doesn't "crash" like the Hammer default compiler does. [url]http://qsextreme.com/vbct/[/url] Just to let you know though, I'm not 100% sure how it works or anything, so if you don't want to install it yet and ask someone else what to do with it, then, well, maybe you should. Also, when you are simply play-testing your map, put "Run VIS" on "Fast" when you compile, as it really helps speed up the compile time. Don't forget, however, that for your final compile you need to turn it back to "Normal". Hope this helps.
Well the must of time i do compile now it freeze my computer and crash .. so i cant realy give the log But i found i website that tell me what is the problem when i paste my log in a box [url]http://www.interlopers.net/errors/[/url] One time it said there was an hole in the map that show the void so ive made a huge Skybox around the mall ( cube with hollow) so it cant have hole anymore and now The map just wont compile ... I did a fast compile and it worked fine ... then i make a normal and crash .. idk why [editline]8th January 2012[/editline] I mean a Fonc_detail [editline]8th January 2012[/editline] Oh yeah ... And its Func_Detail not fonc
