Todarac: lets make floating islands in minecraft with voxelsniper etc Todarac: then map it in source Todarac: make a TTT maP Todarac: wouldnt be too hard Stinger: minecraft-like? Todarac: i still have the textures for source Todarac: yeah Stinger: oh god that would be Stinger: interesting Todarac: normally this "lets turn this giant thing into source engine" is a joke Todarac: but this is actually possible Todarac: we can make it over an ocean Stinger: yea Todarac: and in the source map, water at the bottom Todarac: 3d skybox that extends water forever Stinger: the only thing is that I'd have to think of a clever way to optimize it[/code] And basically right after that, that very evening we built the entire thing on my Minecraft server, Planning out everything to fit the gameplay of a Trouble in Terrorist Town map. Over the next few weeks, we started creating assets in form of 3D models, Smaller pieces of the map, and different textures. We still have a very, very large amount of ideas, and features that we will add, and quite a few we already have working in-game. Not really stores or houses suitable for building, or even normal doors.   • This is fantastic, just if you do clouds and stuff try and get it right the first time around, everyone uses these terrible versions of the other ttt minecraft map.

  • Could you release the models and textures along with it? All the textures I've seen are from alpha.

We want to keep it default because that's what people recognize, It's what players see as minecraft. though, using the Sphax PureBDCraft 512x512 texturepack for the map wold be interesting. Might try it just as an experiment

Do remember that this is not a model pack, and all of the models are made for usage in hammer, and atleast half of them specifically for this map. There's no point in trying to get them to work in Gmod as spawnable props.

  • Will the water at the bottom kill you or is there a way back up to the top? I'm hoping for the latter so it wont be too easy to dispose of bodies.

We DO have waterfalls and stuff that you could be able to swim up minecraft-style, but we didn't really have any plans to do that. Also, from the main post, I noticed it doesnt say anything about the UNDERSIDES of the islands. The undersides of every island has something going on. Under the main island (island01), there is a sewer system connected from the fountain that leads off the islands. You can walk in and around these sewers + there are multiple entrances / exits. Under the fortress island (island02), there is a mineshaft-like series of tunnels with multiple exits leading off the sides of the island. Under the big island (part of island03), there is a cave system with a dungeon attached.
