Mine was a box of grass with stretched textures. It was also pitch black. I'm sure that someone will think of some deep, philosophical meaning to it so that I can flog a recreation to them for £19.99.

hit a mappers block. all i can say is "YES!" because then i got an idea: ill map a block, with the dimensions of 512^3 and after a few hours of work, ive managed to nicely complete the basic brush work and its looking pretty good. now to test and start detailing! :dance:
My cat once brought in a dead mouse, but its guts were hanging out and they snagged on something, so there was a line of guts several metres long leading to my mother's handbag where the rest of the bloody carcass was.

I remember someone was doing a 512*512*512 challenge and he made an apartment-style courtyard, but he used the skybox to surpass the height limit. It ended up looking really good.

How bout no skybox 1024? the whole skybox thing is a lil sneaky. You could make a roof top and then in the skybox make an entire city. Hardly a 512^3 cube :(

yeah thats the one. i infact had 60% of my current maps inspiration from there

We need another 512^3 competition soon, those were always the best types of comps because loads of people entered.

The veterans could also see how they have improved by comparing their old and new maps.

Seriously, I've been bugging a countless people to make me exactly what you've done there.

The optimization is awful at this point, and a there's a shit ton of texture allignnment that needs to be done. And they still haven't added the concrete area like they said they would.
