Death Toll in the Daytime Edit: Pyth why is this dumb
All you did was decompile a map, change the light_env settings and the skybox(?), and recompile. How doesn't it deserve a dumb?
All you did was decompile a map, change the light_env settings and the skybox(?), and recompile. How doesn't it deserve a dumb?
It's a L4D Campaign, but it isn't available for L4D2 and I would like it to be. I asked the guy if I could do it.
I started that 5 minutes ago, then I ran out of inspiration. [editline]23rd April 2012[/editline] It's under water, by the way.
How do you people work so fast. I have been mapping for almost a year and stuff like that takes me an hour. [editline]23rd April 2012[/editline]

The 8 stages of any mapper. Where are you?
1) Shit maps 2) Huge block city maps 3) Really detailed maps 4) Give Up 5) 1 more really detailed map 6) Give Up 7) Playing with functions and water 8) Deleted hammer and thrown it in the bin due to running out of inspiration.
I have done that over and over again.
remember that one L4D2 map where supplies would drop all over the city, and it showed a lot of promise? what happened to that map/thread?
Oh god I'm at 8+ I want to work SO BAD, but I just can't find any motivation or inspiration
I've been at number 2 for the last year, but starting to get into #3.

I've used Hammer for like 3-4 years Haven't released a map yet lol
In the middle of 2 and 3, and a little bit of 6. Not sure what to map really...
No seriously, how do you map so fast.
How do you people work so fast. I have been mapping for almost a year and stuff like that takes me an hour.
A hour? Damn.
I'm slow as hell when it comes to mapping, and it would only take like 10-15
http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=127375 Took 7 hours...was exhausted afterwards...
http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=127375 Took 7 hours...was exhausted afterwards...
HOW DO YOU DO THESE THINGS SO FAST.
HOW DO YOU DO THESE THINGS SO FAST.
By knowing the tool, and having a damn fine mouse (wireless laser).
By knowing the tool, and having a damn fine mouse (wireless laser).
Eww, not wireless. Logitech g500 master ra.... wait I broke that mouse Logitech g5 master race! Also: Knowing the shortcuts and shortcuts to tools helps a ton. Like Z is for camera when your cursor is in the 3d view, then you can drive around with WASD.
I was thinking of recording me making a quick map, if I did, could anyone just look at it and tell me some ways to do things better?
Eww, not wireless.
Why not?
I was thinking of recording me making a quick map, if I did, could anyone just look at it and tell me some ways to do things better?
sure
ugh, it's that time of year when I'm super busy and when i have the time to do stuff I choose not to
Eww, not wireless.
Because i have so many cables coming out of my pc, and stuff on my desk, i like the idea of not having restrictions with wires getting caught. It had a charge cable which i occasionally plug into my keyboard (such as now) and has red lights that come on way before it runs out of battery to tell me to charge it.

I think you just need to manage your cords better. (And that's coming from the worst guy with cords.) :P

I have fucking OCD. As part of this, I mustn't seen any cables. They cant be tangled up; They all have to be perfect and not wrapped round each other. When I move my mouse, there can't be ANY restrictions.

The only way I'll ever live is in a mess of wires. No one can stop me. Honestly though, I'm always on the go moving my computer (read: not laptop) between houses and so I always have lazy bouts where I just want my computer up and running without the need of it looking "prettied up." I naturally have all my stuff out around me and not put away anyway - I have more trouble finding things when they're put away irl.
I don't have ocd, my cables are an utter mess. Even with the charge cable in, the mouse has a reduction in movement. And i like free movement.

Then tidy up all your clutter and cables.
That's not creepy at all.
I don't know what you're talking about, your next boy ;)
I don't know what you're talking about, your next boy ;)
Good luck with that...my nest is always on fire...
