•
Do those fans rotate? :ohdear:
Is that a bad thing? :ohdear: One of them does. The other one is broken. Buuuuuut there are three switches in a corner behind the control room with which you can decide in which state the base is in. 1. bombardment: impact sounds and screenshakes all over the base, flashing lights, dust in the air, dust from the ceiling, electric arcs between the gate and ramp, rotating siren lights, one rotating fan and the annoying alarm sound :P 2. bombardment, but we're cool: impact sounds and screenshakes all over the base, flashing lights, dust in the air, dust from the ceiling, electric arcs between the gate and ramp, one rotating fan 3. we're cool: silence, clean air, no sirens, two working fans I'll see if I can remove the cave-in, too, for the third state.

I'm eager to see how it works :smug:
 •
You can't remove the cave-in, as it's a model, but if you propper it you can disable it :v:
If it would be a model, I wouldn't need to propper it, would I? :colbert: It's a combination of displacement and stock debris models. I could pull the displacement away with env_terrainmorph and the models won't be a problem, either. And yeah, a video would be better than my wall of text and some screenshots. :/
 • well, i'll probably not gonna watch if there's going to be a video... :D just to not spoil anything although,...ah never mind...i already saw the screenshots so who cares about spoilers :q:

 • No idea. I just know it exists, but I never tried it. If not....Propper can convert displacements, too. :keke:

 • [del]Now there's a 13GB AVI file on my desktop. :byodood: Need to google how to get this fucker into an upload-friendly HD format. I forgot which codecs I used last time.[/del] Problem solved. 100 MB is definitely better. This tutorial rocks! [del]Now uploading...[/del] Have fun!
 • yes, it's a particle effect. it's amazing when it's used correctly.
 • Thanks everyone.
yes, it's a particle effect. it's amazing when it's used correctly.
Actually, that's a shitload of env_dustpuffs. Extremely expensive and one of the main reasons for my Edict problem. :v: That's why I'm indeed working on a custom particle effect to replace the current setup.
You used the my sounds the map :P I like it :D
What? No. The alarm and impacts are from freesounds.org .

 •
oh realy... sorry :)
U SUX Not starting a flamewar :3:
 • Atmosphere in the video is great. Dust effects from the ceiling, dull impact sounds (when you walk down the ramp to the left corridor)...really cool. Only thing i'm uncertain about, is the recurring alert sound. The constant alert sound is nice, but the other one sounds a bit like someone is constantly hitting a buzzer :3:.

[editline][/editline] After listening to the alarm again more closely, I noticed a third sound beside the siren and the buzzer. Sounds almost like the energy ball of a combine rifle when held with the gravity gun. I can't believe I never noticed that before. :v:
 • Will you prepare also version of map for CAP users, without kino dispenser, consoles and apple core?
 •
Will you prepare also version of map for CAP users, without kino dispenser, consoles and apple core?
He will do as he likes.
 •
"Will you prepare a version of the map for CAP users, without kino dispenser, consoles and apple core?"
 well...deleting a few things off the map, to make certain areas more customizeable for users later on, may be a good idea considering the balance act with the brush limit tikay seems to be on most the time. however,...i wouldn't have argumented soley with "for CAP users". :D no offense madman...i see the ulterior motive behind the question, to replace e.g. the brush-made controle interface by tikay, with the new controle interface you're currently coding (which i think is awesome)... but let's take on a few more hours, days etc. of waiting to see what tikay comes up with. who knows how soon the brush limit will knock on his door again.
