• I love when people post problems that are resolved in the OP since I'll never answer them
 •
I love you. I still haven't figured out what the hell you're getting at. I spawned a companion cube and ran around for like 10 minutes expecting something freaky to happen and nothing has happened at all.
I think he's referring to the friendly Gnome or Companion cube found in the toolbox feature.
 •
I love when people post problems that are resolved in the OP since I'll never answer them
I was in a rush to download the map so I overlooked the part regarding the overflow issue I encountered. I actually used to have that set in my launch options but I guess I forgot to put it back in after reinstalling Gmod.
I think he's referring to the friendly Gnome or Companion cube found in the toolbox feature.
Ah. That explains it.
 • Christ, this map actually frightened me a little. excellent atmosphere, and the underground... I was twitching. Seriously, I kept expecting Alma to randomly appear, or to turn around in time to see something either attack me or duck out of sight. And in general, I was thinking it was too epic to be true, like randomly the game would turn into a shocker with a disfigure face and a shriek, then I'd get the Blue Screen of Death. I wanted to use this for a comic I was working on, but now I have to go back to Gm_atomic. With the sounds, atmosphere, and random need to stop and explore for two hours, there's no way I could concentrate. Dx Also, the lighting and Day/night cycle makes it unideal for such a thing 3:
 • He means Harmless Companion Cube. It is an entity. I think it is in cloduscript too.
 • I spawned that thing in GM_Atomic when it first came out and it was pretty frightening. I know what he's getting at.
 •
Rate me late if i am, but i got an engine hunk overflow when i tried to load it
Read the OP

I can make some nice big ones using photos from CGtextures.
 • Well I finally got rp_apocalypse released onto toybox, it's a better version of the map so hopefully people will start downloading it
 • Me - :) My computer - >:( I'm getting 60FPs, highest settings; although the micro-studdering is killing me.
 •
Me - :) My computer - >:( I'm getting 60FPs, highest settings; although the micro-studdering is killing me.
Try turning off/on multicore settings I was going through the comments from the toybox download and saw some great stuff :geno: :argh: But this man has the right idea
 • Its pretty obvius you copied from Fallout 3. I mean look at the theme and style, the 50's idea of the future is very prominent in your map along with the vault. Couldn't get much closer, stop denying it. /sarcasm
 • Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this map based in Russia, or the Ukraine? one of the biggest indicators is the soviet banners in the control room, another is the architecture of the buildings.
 •
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this map based in Russia, or the Ukraine? one of the biggest indicators is the soviet banners in the control room, another is the architecture of the buildings.
The soviet banner in the War Room was a joke since in the movie Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, the War Room was based in America and used by major American officials, so to have something like that in an bunker so important would be ironic. Something I found to be humorous that no one else would probably understand. But to answer the question gm_apoc isn't based anywhere. The architecture for some of the buildings are actually based from buildings in Chernobyl, but there are other buildings and homes are based on American architecture. This was to make the location of the map undefined and ambiguous. It is left up to the player to decide where the map is located. I also tried to do this with how the apocalypse was started. But you can get a bit of information of the end of the world from the graffiti and the such

 • I get this error message whenver I try to run the map
 • Is the apartment haunted? A door opened by itself, theres a tv that wont turn off, and a radio that is spazzing out.
 • Sorry to bump an old forum, but is anyone else having issues loading this map? I get a memory error when I try to load, something that never happened until the latest update. Just would like to know if it's my computer, or Gmod. Again, apologies for bumping this old thread!
