With a good 3D skybox, anything can be gorgeous. Although, I'm not sure about the technical limits for something like that.

Create your whole level in 3dsMax en then export it using WallWorm tools. It's just that making something like that takes time and skill. And that exactly the problem. People with skill don't have time and the people with time don't have skills. why not make a general idea thread instead of this thread?
