  • nevermind. :saddowns: the map made the server laggy and kept giving me reliable snapshot overflow errors.. even though nothing was being spawned :S

  • Goodness what a scary map; I can't even leave the surveillance room without the reassurance of an m60. However, I too experienced the same issues mentioned by others above in multiplayer, aside from the crashes (haven't tried singleplayer in garrysmod yet, but about to do that now).

  • It's a nice map, with a great idea, but there are a few things we had problems with. Firstly, the screen went black and white complete with a scream as soon as we went to open the spawnroom door. It stayed like this basically for the whole time - it went to colour once in the 'baby' room and when all the corpses flew out of the mortuary. But soon after both events, the scream came again, returning us to black and white. In fact, the scream kept coming even when we were black and white. It wasn't scary by this point, just annoying. We ended up quitting due to eye strain. Is this a bug, by any chance? Secondly, we kind of didn't have a clue what to do. Yeah, we explored, and we figured out which gadget was which, but we didn't know what the mobile camera did. The ghost detector just beeps sometimes, which was weird, and the ghost box just gives static. I'm gonna try it again in singleplayer to see if there's any difference, but we were pretty flummoxed as to what to do with them. The camera also dissapeared forever when I got killed in the 'baby' room, which was a shame. Interestingly, I'd simply made a listen server for me and a friend to try it on, and I had no lag at all, unlike everyone else it would seem, and my friend only had the odd short spike. Although I did have a couple of reliable snapshot overflows, but this was whenever I made a wire weaponstripper seat in the spawn room and then got out of it. I guess that was due to the seat placing me outside of the map upon exit, seats have done that to me in the past. Otherwise, I did think it was a pretty good map, and we were going round saying 'Whoa!' a lot. Definitely unnerving atmosphere, you definitely got that bit right. That poison zombie that kept running through the hallways was pretty neat, we kept running out of his way in fear, and one time he ran straight into my friend, which was accompanied by an appropriate response from him. I'd like to see it with a bit of combat too :P

  • This map is amazing, my friend hosted it on his server (he lives nearby) and we had no lag at all. My ping was 100 but I didn't even notice. Happy halloween everybody ;)

  • I actually don't seem to have THAT much lag. We get some, Timenova will tell you that, but it deosn't make it unplayable. I had a great session on this map yesterday with several people. The getting-stuck-on-black-and-white problem is the main thing that needs to be fixed IMO.

  • Hi guys, first of all thank you all for your excellent feedback. The black and white problem is going to be investigated tomorrow (currently not at home) So I'll see if we can get a fix going for that. Probably going to be looking into sorting out the EVP thingy, as the effects are really quiet. Maybe I'll have to find some brand new sounds. We'l see. Anyhow Happy Halloween to you all !

  • I sat in the camera room for about 5 mins then [sp]the stalker popped up with the screaming[/sp] then I scarequitted. I also played it in ep2 so I had no camera or weapons. Sorry I didn't try the rest of your map though, too scared

  • I nearly shat my pants when... I found out tht map is placed inside a nooby sky box. I guess thats what causes lags. Well i had such insane lags i asked friend with better PC to run map. Well, Map isn't bad, if you get rid off noobbox(Placing whole map inside a giant box makes vvis make 200% more work and also makes map laggy as fuck), make some objective, and make some things more clear. Like, I still haven't discovered what ghostbox does(it only mutters in some map parts to add creepyness, nothing else), how do I get past doors that are blocked with wooden bars (I've asploded them with some of my sweps right through the doors) and how do I get into a place in the elevator shaft(I propflied to it actually). Telling the truth, I've expected more. Map is tiny, 2 people can always find eachother. I suggest to add more hallucinations that involve building itself.   • To be honest, krassel. Your map were not that creepy by the looks of it. What his maps does to maintain the scariness is that you never know what to expect. You map just place you in a hallway with only one way to go, and some random events (not like his random events, but just events that happen and does not make any sense, hence it isn't scary. Like the mirror thing. You do not build up any tension). That takes away the feeling you are being watched or followed. But i agree with you, if he had more time he should have fixed the skybox issue and made it a bit more realistic (lights, geometry and such).
