I don't suppose there's room on the sandbox version for you to add the mainland?
The map has already filled up the full hammer grid
I don't remember a space-shipyard in the TV show? Remember we already have enough to fit into this map staying only with what was in the TV show. Also, space (on the map) is nearly full now, the only thing we could still fit in is the asteroid mining base I had planned a while back. In the show there was an undersea mining base, so it follows that there could also be an asteroid mining base (similar in design to the undersea one).
I could give it another try if you want.

It was a facility to use the geothermal energy under the planetary crust. And that wouldnt work within an asteroid!:psylon:

And that wouldnt work within an asteroid!:psylon:
Ok, DRILLING base (drilling for geothermal energy - would look very very similar to a mining base). http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Mobile_drilling_platform The asteroid mining idea is for something to explore in space that would fit within the SGA canon. I was suggesting that a small base to extract precious metals or minerals from a nearby asteroid for use in "experiments" or for building things - for example, where would the Lanteans get metals and minerals for repairing the city or creating new drones? Asteroid mining has been suggested as a possibility for humans to attempt, it would defintely be within easy reach for the Lanteans: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroid_mining I suggested using the undersea geothermal drilling base as a style guide, combined with elements from the Lantean defence satellite and the city itself. If you can think of something better to put in space above the city that is not too large, not too complex and not too hard to make but would fit better with the canon, please suggest it here or on my forum.
The map has already filled up the full hammer grid
Not the sandbox version I suppose
Not the sandbox version I suppose
I think both the spacebuild and the sandbox versions are the same size. (maybe adding it to the skybox)
I think both the spacebuild and the sandbox versions are the same size. (maybe adding it to the skybox)
I could add some land in the extreme distance in the 3d skybox, but in the show, they only found the land by flying about in the jumper, you couldn't see land from the city, like you would if i put it in. I've also found in the past that the more stuff I put in the 3d skybox the more people try to go there, causing whingeing and sometimes crashing. Both the sandbox and spacebuild versions are the same map with different things hidden, they are exactly the same size - they are 95% the same entirely - the sandbox version is identical to the spacebuild version but with the sea/seafloor/3d skybox added, with space stuff removed and a different skybox texture. There is no space left to add anything large at all. Some rooms will be going into the base of the city under the tower and probably one more space prop for the sb version. Apart from this, what remains is detailing. NB: The sandbox version, due to the huge sea, is already using 85% of the maximum possible lit faces. It will be difficult just fitting in what we have already, so please don't embark on any giant efforts of your own expecting it to be added - it can't be. We still need work on props and textures though, so anyone with skills - we need your help.

Leaked portal 2 box art: [editline]12:19PM[/editline] It´s fake. But we can still dream.
Will the Ancient defence Satellite get collisions and will the "underwater"-jumper-bay also be available in the SB version? Also:
Isn´t this weird?
No it isn't. You only have to delete the Steam Process with the Taskmanager and restart Steam. If you do that very often you get this result. But that's not the map topic.
I can't say it enough bunglist. This is a work of art! Granted, it's not 100% to the show (I've seen better when it comes to having every minor detail correct internally), but the basics of the internal layout and the detail on the outside are just WOW! Especially your sandbox version, it just shines (literally and figuratively. ;) ) being out in the water with sunlight and a sky the way we're used to seeing it in the show. My only gripe, really, is that the drone compartments are full of water in the SpaceBuild version. Personally, I don't see any reason for it except to keep some semblance of "Atlantis = Water" in your map? Maybe it would look better with an iris-like "door" that can open/close once you get a chair room (if you put one in), but it's just odd seeing water there.( I'll put this in the "feature request" part of your bug reporting system, but I didn't think anything would be wrong with posting here. Maybe others feel the same?) Again, and as always, great job!
That's because it's not yet finished.
Sorry. I didn't mean to imply that I thought this is a finished product. I understand it's a work in progress. I'm just saying that for all that would have to be done to make it 100% show-accurate I'm guessing the internal layout (like the control room) will stay pretty rough compared to a map like this: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=20270. However, I still think it's a wonderful map that gets it right enough to be thoroughly enjoyable by Atlantis fans now and will be much better as refinements are made.
The water is there for using with lifesupport.
I'm sorry, but I still don't understand why that makes a difference. Not to be mean; I honestly don't understand why it's necessary.
I'm sorry, but I still don't understand why that makes a difference. Not to be mean; I honestly don't understand why it's necessary.
Because it is a spacebuild map and there are many lifesupport devices that use water. You can make oxigen from water which is useful if you want to stay more time outside the shield.
hey guys, an update on my medical bay. ive added screens now, gives the room a more medical feeling. i am in the middle of making this medical cabinet (you should have seen it in the show)
Thats awesome, any chance I could get unabanned :frown:
any estimate when the medic bay will be complete and attached to atlantis?
well the basic structure is done, its just a few props to be made like the cabinet then i am done. Update:
yet another update: models now on map: *microscope w/ table *bed lamps *medicine cabinet *medicine self
Are you working on the med scanner?
you mean that thing what goes over the the lantian bed?
you mean that thing what goes over the the lantian bed?
Yes, the full body scan lantean device.
yea i will give it a try :)
yea i will give it a try :)
Cool.
yea i will give it a try :)
its gona be hard geting the balancing right
its gona be hard geting the balancing right
He already has the bed, so all he has to do is put a ragdoll on a bed and then check the height.
a short question about the med-bay... is the space between the beds, still big enough for a few light columns to fit in? like e.g. the ones here on the left and right:
