I hope no one minds if I ask about a status update? It's been 2 weeks and I was wondering if we were closer than last time to a release date for the next version at least. Thanks for all the work you guys put into this!
still wondering how the new system of transporters are going to work (multiple rooms)
i guess that we might be able to choose different locations from a pop-up window when inside the transporter (being the ass-hole i am sometimes, it would be a nice thing to know how far the obviously "huge update" for the next beta release has come) this shall not mean, i'd like to rush things...things sure take their time, specially on such a great looking map like atlantis
[ MATTSTERS MINI POST ] (or is it a large post; just very far away...) hmm well a bit of bad news to break, as you may have noticed there's been no new releases for a couple weeks and it looks unlikely that we would be able to get a version for a while yet. the reasons a bit of a compound between the fact that me and bung are very busy, bungs out doing some knish sport he calls 'working' (must be one of these US things) and I'm bogged down on a coding contract. the other part of this compound is that the key feature of the next update (working tele-ma-jigs to give them there technical name) are turning out to be a horribly complex mess of options and Lua the very concept of which has sent 3 of our best Code chimps mad! in short: projects on hold (or at least a very slow pace) we will be working on the update and chipping away at it but it not going to be on a much wider time-line than your used to.

Thats because he has his own forum, needs to find a new job or something, and generally is a prick when he talks on facepunch.

ok, ok I think I'm going to have to address this problem before bung brings down the pain. here's some more measured responses to your questions everyone Q: is the project dead? A: well that depends, allot of us are busy right now with other things so we wont be working on it but... if you have anything to contribute we'll be happy to help, support and add it to the map to further its development. the project isn't dead as long as people are still pitching in its just that were gonna' be taking a back seat. Q: why don't you post on here any more / why do you have your own forum? A: well that was mainly because facepunch got a touch crippling on what they allow in posts. The custom forum we set up has turned into more of a tracker for bugs, feature requests and dev detail as opposed to this thread which only has the bite-sized news and highlights. A:no your correct he barley reads a post on here with all the other sites, servers and responsibilities its a wonder he gets time to reply to anything at all. someone who does however read the posts here after which I tend to send him a cheeky Message along the lines of "ohhh. I think you just knocked the fun out of my posts... ahhh...

And also because I got him banned here on fp.[/QUOTE] ah the post in question was the reason he banned you and for 2 reasons. the first is that the most contained nothing useful to him fixing the problems, from looking at the images he couldn't tell what or where you where looking. the second is the fact you posted a HUGE amount of scribbled on images to a post that till then had been a very well structured afraid of peoples contributions and very useful links to reference material. if you took that exact same message and placed it in a PM to him it is very likely he would have responded with a thanks and asking for some detail on where the problems where.
I actually was really nice in this thread, way nicer than I usually am, because I like this project, and I like how bunglist is/was making it, I just don't really like bunglist. Just look at why he got banned here, what I was saying is the truth, he was wrong, gmod does not ignore svn files, and he got banned for freaking out. as a stone cold coder at heart there's a massive compulsion to include numbers to my arguments. I have some figures if it helps, after painstakingly backtracking through all the threads pages I've have managed to compile a constructive index for mobrockers. (I'm being very generous here in what I regard as a useful post even if it is in the wrong place) Key Useful - a post which clearly adds value to the project Neutral - A post confirming another users efforts Useless - off topic, poorly judged or general post spam adding no value And the result are: Useful : 2 Neutral : 9 Useless : 61 Total : 72 meaning that 84.72% of posts have added nothing to the project But. I also understand that this is involuntary, I severely doubt that he would intend to create spam and is much more likely to have come about from misunderstanding forum etiquette. I can see why people would get quite peeved at him and if you want to argue that ignorance is no excuse I wouldn't be able to create any sort of defence however the point still stands that its not deliberate.

I still have my fingers crossed on that Mage returning my calls though.
