•
I really am leaning towards Lua right now.
Really, Do it. It's so easy to implement and pretty much looks after itself once done.

 • Lua alternatives: http://www.iolanguage.com/ (smaller than Lua, more libs, macros) http://squirrel-lang.org/ (similar to Lua but with more C like code, classes)
 •
We need an update soon Robo, show us an awesome new feature. :D
There's not much to show. I've been cleaning up a bunch of code. I rewrote my matrix math functions so that they make use of the SIMD capabilities of modern processors. This made a HUGE difference in performance and solved the problem with frustum culling overhead. The next two things I'm going to try to work on are Bezier curves and OpenGL shaders.

 • Yay :excited: Edit: Will this engine ever get a REAL release, where we could expect to see it in some indie games?

 • Oh, a good example for scripting language is Angelscript/Angelcode (http://www.angelcode.com/angelscript/) Although I would (if anything) recommend it as a secondary script for the more advanced people, seeing as it's a bit more advanced.

This is because at the moment it's a single man experiment, and there are many more advanced and developed 3D engines such as Ogre3D and irriclit ( or whatever the spelling is ).

 • Looks good. I've always wanted to write my own simple game engine (2d side scroller), mainly as a practise exercise (learn OpenGL or such), would also be a great way to learn C (last time I tried I kept making silly mistakes with pointers)
 •
You should get a team working on this.
And what cathbadh means by this is that he wants to join and work on it.

 •
And what cathbadh means by this is that he wants to join and work on it.
Heh, yeah it would be cool to work on this, but I have projects of my own, and I was talking about a team that would collaborate in person rather than online. Team projects work out much better that way in my experience.

 •
Bezier curves!
Neatorific! Can they be procedurally generated?
 •
Neatorific! Can they be procedurally generated?
It will create a surface from any 3x3 grid of control points. The calculations are slow, so it's only good for building display lists at load-time.

 •
Good god, this is getting interesting.
I know what you mean, bezier curves have that effect on me too :v: Looking good. Are you going to be adding any game logic kind of stuff to it? Like things to do with object interaction, rather than just the individual components working separately.

 • So it's possible. This is inspirefull enough to make me attempt the same :D
