I would like to know what you guys (as developers) think about certificates (For example those on w3schools - http://www.w3schools.com/cert/default.asp).And I would specifcally like to know what you think of certificates to become a CSM/CSD (Certified Scrum Master/Developer) (http://www.scrumalliance.org/pages/CSM - http://www.scrum.org/professionalscrumdeveloper/).I need this information for a school assingment.
I have no idea what you're on about
You can have all the certificates you want, but I want to see real work you have completed. Really the only time I'd be interested in certificates is if they were for something like a PCI compliance class. Being certified as a scrum master is silly. Agile works differently for every team and it's something you need to learn and change with the team. You don't just get a certificate that says you know it.

Those certificates will do as much on your resume as a smear of dog shit will.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
