I almost forgot how much I hate Magento. Yesterday my local dev setup worked fine. Today I can't log in to the admin panel at all because it randomly decided it can't set cookies for some reason.
Funnily enough the exact same thing happened to me today. I open up this Magento site I'm working on and it doesn't let me login. No error, no message. It just refreshes the login page essentially. I googled for a while and I could only find issues with people using it locally. It turns out the var/session and var/cache folders were corrupted and because of that I couldn't login. Thanks Magento.
-snip, Haskell deleted his thread. amazing.-
You can delete your own threads?
You can delete your own threads?
Lock them
Lock them
All I did was ask the mods to remove it, because it was getting derailed.
I can't see how it was 'derailed', though. You were offering web designs. Someone said something about your designs being stolen. You said they weren't stolen because you just took inspiration from them (or something like that) on that Ruby page. The other guy asked what had that to do with it. At no point did anyone stop talking about your designs.
All I did was ask the mods to remove it, because it was getting derailed.
Or because people pointed out that your ideas were stolen and that you kept lying about your age and many other things?

Ended up having to comment out the code that verifies the domain for the cookies, which is fucking bizarre because I was accessing local dev through the same domain and it was working before haha.

that's not nice dude... [editline]26th January 2014[/editline] still gonna rate some people tho
If I did that, the school board and cops would be all over my ass.
If I did that, the school board and cops would be all over my ass.
A few years ago, I had a flash games website for the kids at my school (because the school blocked the usual ones), and I had a modified guestbook script to allow people to post Free Rider 2 levels. Someone drew a picture of a dick, posted it with the title of "<person's name> and me last night". The cops came over to my house and accused me of cyberbullying :v:
I wouldn't do it based on the sole reason that you would be cockblocking yourself from the entire school.
Mark Zuckerberg's facematch 2.0
I wouldn't do it based on the sole reason that you would be cockblocking yourself from the entire school.
or at least let the girls vote on the guys as well
I'm bored by designing, tweaking HTML and CSS, so I don't have some crazy cool design to show, but some pretty cool PHP code. I've "recreated" facemash for my own high school. I haven't published it yet, as I don't know if it would be unethical or not. I bought the domain "kgmash.dk." At the moment it looks something like this: The text basically says: "Pick the hottest one, click the picture, the button or use your keyboard." To access the top 10 (it still needs to be calibrated as only 3 of my friends have seen it so far) just enter http://kgmash.dk/?click=top10. And to access the whole site it's simply: http://kgmash.dk. As Mark, according to the Social Network movie, used the Elo-rating system, I did as well: Ea = 1 / (1 + 10 ^ ((Rb-Ra)/400)) Eb = 1 / (1 + 10 ^ ((Ra-Rb)/400)) Here Ea is the first player (Ra being the rank of player 1, each starting at 2000), Eb is the second player. These calculations basically gives the odds. I fetched all the images from our school's webpage, easy as that.
I'd suggest not doing this. Someone did this exact thing on Hansenberg Gymnasium, and it nearly got the student expelled. They don't take this kind of thing lightly.
I'm done in school in 4 month's time. And also I have a girlfriend, so I wouldn't be cockblocking. Furthermore, I think in Denmark we are more open to this kind of thing. But of course, it would lead to some sort of cockblocking. Haven't told my girlfriend about it, yet though. I have thought about that... and that might be something I will do before, if I am going to, publishing it.
If it pisses off any girls then they might get shitty with both you and your girlfriend. I could be wrong though since I'm not familiar with Danish culture but the reaction seems too unpredictable to even consider doing. And even though you have 4 months left I wouldn't want to risk spending 4 months with anyone that was shitty with me.
Launched a holding page trying to generate interest for the new forum blog hybrid thing I'm working on, I'm no designer, any obvious improvements I can make to this? https://www.amboza.com/

"Should I put up a thing that compares women in my school based on their looks?" What a shitty thing to do, honestly.
am I the only one that thinks that the facesmash thing is bad ass?
what if you make it compare everyone, male and female
The thing that I find most interesting about that site is how nice the photos are.
That's Denmark. The country of the beautiful women. (That's the general perception, until you visit Sweden)
Uh, our country are voted to have some of the most unsexy women just saying. Not offending anyone here, I read it somewhere. Also your site, please don't, it's rude and for practice or something you could definitely come up with something better. Also, as demonstrated in "The Social Network" move. Generally not a good idea to publicly rate girls on looks however fun or interesting it might be. all work and no fun makes Jack a dull boy Trying my hand at canvas to make some sort of AC clone, but mostly making a a character move with collision detection. I didn't try to search for optimization tricks before, but this time I did, and the use of multiple canvas to avoid redrawing everything in order to improve performance really helped.
i removed my doorbell because it's obnoxious as fuck i'm gonna place a qr code outside to see if anyone will use it, this will come up: [vid]https://braxnet.org/temp/20140127_000915.webm[/vid] when clicked it sends a mail to me with timestamps and shit it's a pretty long shot but still :v: [editline]27th January 2014[/editline] dohoho now i get a picture of them too sent to my inbox
"launched" spoonfedstyle.com today (meaning I posted it a couple places and asked for lots of feedback) Been working on the rewrite of this for quite a while and it feels awesome to finally have it at a point where I'm happy putting it out there. This project has come a really really long way since the first prototype was knocked together over a weekend.

This project has come a really really long way since the first prototype was knocked together over a weekend.
the design is nice, and even nicer on mobiles, but I can't help but notice two things: First and foremost, and I think this is very important, your site is about finding clothes but I don't see a single piece of clothing in the homepage. Yes, people are supposed to pick what they like but if you were to sprinkle some nice model shots with nice clothing somewhere (perhaps the big blue banner?) it could add more life to the design and express the message of the site more clearly. Images are extremely important in conveying a message. Second, are these bullet points (I mean, the "steps", not just the dots) supposed to be this big? [thumb]http://andrescanelones.me/imageuploads/psJNS.png[/thumb] This arrangement works great on mobiles but it seems to me they're excessively huge for desktop/tablet viewing and adds a lot of unnecessary scrolling to get to where you care that your visitors get to, the "get started" button. I would condense these three by putting them inline for desktop-like resolutions. Keep working on it by all means, I see a lot of potential in this project!
