•
Just put up a project page for my game, including video and downloads (with stats): http://www.novaember.com/projects/br2/ What you think (about the page itself)? Especially the text, that's not something I'm good with. (Still webkit-only, I'm gonna make other stylesheets later)
You should really remove that right click thing, it's completely pointless and just throws people off. Your scrollbar on the content box is kind of wonky too.

Until JS gets the power to add itens to the browser's menu, I'm using my own menu for stuff like removing files or changing their names. Much like Dropbox has on their site:

What is the end user going to do with your 1990-esque right click menu?

There's absolutely no reason for it, and you can't do things like Searching text you have selected. Especially in this instance where you're not adding any functionality..

 • I hate it when it ISN'T custom right-click menu at programs like dropbox, box, google docs etc. Custom scroll-bars may make the "program" look better. At normal web pages with a scroll-bar from top to bottom, I agree the default scroll-bar may be better. [editline]edit[/editline] This thing would look like shit with normal scroll-bar:

But when it comes to applications, of course it's handy to have customized stuff in the menu.

[editline]1st March 2012[/editline] Plus, if you really don't want to, it's easy to disable.
ok, first off your a tags don't turn into the cursor like it should when you hover over it. secondly, the notice at the top saying that the browser needs to be a webkit-enabled browser is stupid, especially if your browser is webkit enabled; plus, it tells me that the website doesn't work with any other kind of browser, so no cross-browser compatibility has been added. Unless you're targeting a specific audience that you know without a doubt will use google chrome no matter what (or another webkit enabled browser, which i doubt either conditions will be true), you should at least try to implement some cross-browser compatibility options. third, don't mess with the main scroll bar is my general ideal when styling scroll bars. If you style scroll bars for an element inside of the page, then i'd say it's fine; but if it's the far right scroll bar, I'd probably leave it alone. fourth, the glow fucks with my eyes. I don't like it. You have it in the worst possible places, instead of where it needs to be; for example, the body text, in my opinion, could do with a bit of a shadow. fifth, the shades of gray you use don't seem to be consistent. lastly, shouldn't the main body take up the whole window?

 • Im working on a very simple website with a small group of friends. Im designing it and doing most of the HTML, my friend is doing the achieving/organizing and some HTML, and my other friend is doing the PHP and JAVA, and he is also hosting the site on a dedicated linux computer. (sadly it broke so there are no links ATM....) BUT! before you blow us off for noobs, we are doing all of the above from scratch. No <bs> website builders or any of that crap. Coded word for word. :D Its going to be a small social network site, kinda like a forum site, but more like facebook. just simpler and less crap. Its pretty fun, and very educational... if anyone is bored and help us, just PM me! But you would have to be experienced in JAVA, PHP, and HTML. --------- And in case your a 12 year old who wants to know all the info on how we made it: We are using basic stuff like Notepad++, (TextWrangler for when were on macs), and dreamweaver.
