•
Just finished the first day of my internship at !
Replaying to this post using Opera Mobile, it's perfect. Though you must admit, Opera is like a fallen war hero. It did amazing things but nobody seems to care.
 •
I personally feel that it would look perfect if you added a 5-10px bottom margin to your paragraphs. The thoughts are together now, but since the paragraphs have no spacing above/below each one, it still looks like it all kind of runs together to me. I found it a bit hard to read.
How is it now?
 • Too spaced out. Move them ~50% closer. And add a bit more space between the <h2> and first <p> of each section.

As long as you're consistent throughout, there shouldn't be an issue. The web design police aren't going to come and bust down your door because your website doesn't conform to the grid system completely. To be honest, I thought grid systems were mainly to align elements horizontally, in uniform columns. Vertical positioning shouldn't matter.
Yep, Vietnow's is exactly what I was imagining. Looks a thousand times better. Most clients aren't even going to know what a baseline grid is. What they will know however, is that they're having a hard time reading your copy. Best to just stick with what looks good, unless of course this is for a school project where you actually HAVE to use baseline grid. If the latter is the case, perhaps refining your content so that each paragraph consists of at least 3 sentences would make it look better with the grid. Like the paragraphs here: http://www.alistapart.com/d/settingtypeontheweb/example.html It might look weird to us just because you have several paragraphs that are one or barely two lines, and with a space between each short paragraph, it feels like the white space is bigger than the content itself. Maybe I'm just ranting, but food for thought. My attempt:
 • I tried to apply your suggestions (I won't change the line-heights though, the baseline grid is too important to the design): [t]http://gabrielecirulli.com/p/20120109-195902.png[/t] Better? (I really can't tell myself because I already know what the copy says)

 • Working on a portfolio site, still WIP. [t]http://i.imgur.com/91I5F.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/hGPzD.png[/t]
 • Started working on this an hour ago for a client..please ignore the ridiculous dummy content as well as the DeviantArt social media button.
 •
Now for street view!
I've been investigating that, seems quite hard though. Have to figure out a way to convert WoW's internal coordinates to Google Maps coordinates first though, so I can get Flight Paths, Taxi Paths, Area Tables and ores/herbs etc working.
 •
Though you must admit, Opera is like a fallen war hero. It did amazing things but nobody seems to care.
There's depressingly many examples of that in this industry. Just look at Smalltalk for a great example. [editline]10th January 2012[/editline] Also if anyone here is a CoffeeScripter, would you be able to help me out by kicking the tyres of this little thing I wrote? https://github.com/charliesome/coffee-script-pure It's the CoffeeScript compiler running entirely in Ruby. I'd really appreciate it if you could pass a few scripts through it and make sure they compile properly. Let me know if you have any problems!

 •
Ehh http://www.taimur.me/
Besides having a two column left-nav layout and a dark background, those sites really have nothing in common.
 •
Ehh http://www.taimur.me/
What? That's like the difference between Google and Yahoo.

 •
Could do with a little more white space. Everything looks so cramped.
It's like that because it's all aligned.
 • How does this look? current: http://www.andrescanelones.info/ftpbox/index.html
 • The grey background on "Why FTPbox?" needs something more to match up with the other one. Also your "Spread the word!" on Chrome / Windows 7 is super hard to see, I only see a subtle blue outline(probably drop shadow). Add a bit space between that and the social icons too

I put the link so you can compare how the title looks now and how it's gonna look.
