Slim was always my go-to framework for small projects but just as mentioned in the article I hated that there wasn't already a database abstraction layer. I'm excited to try out Lumen.
Looks nice. Looks like the 'Sinatra' to 'Rails' for Laravel.
I'm pretty sure Laravel itself is inspired by those frameworks. I can't exactly remember what Taylor said.
Laravel Lumen is out now: http://lumen.laravel.com/ [editline]14th April 2015[/editline] Shit I forgot that posts don't auto merge after a couple of hours.
Lumen is pretty much what I've been looking for recently. Thanks for posting it.
So I've been playing around learning some very basic CSS and HTML! The code is probably disgusting by anybody else's standards, but Im happy with what I've made so far! [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/cD6gFOx.png[/img_thumb] The dumb story was written by my brother, so don't judge that either

I'd probably recommend not using frames though for the main content on your site, they're not really very nice to use. Esp. on mobile devices. Other than that, pretty good.

Revised my design for http://racked.io. I realized that a window-based design would be hard to scale down to mobile, so something had to be done. After a (not-so) quick mockup in Illustrator, this was what i came up with. [t]http://i.imgur.com/GQT9Di3.png[/t]
http://llllll.co http://jaredhennigar.com just did some things with these things let me know what u think [editline]14th April 2015[/editline] svgs are a blessing and a curse
can you put some actual work on your site or dribbble? I remember you used to make some nice shit. also i might forward your portfolio to someone. WHO KNOWS
i don't mean to be a dick but your design sense hasn't changed since you invented it which was in like 2010 when it looked alright, now it just looks tacky and pretentious
That doesn't really matter if the site is not for a client or some work that's to be featured on his portfolio.
That doesn't really matter if the site is not for a client or some work that's to be featured on his portfolio.
every single one of his designs has been like that since as long as i can remember. it's also the style of his "creative studio" so it's obviously meant to be vindictive of his actual design sense and what he'll provide to clients.
Because you use a design for your firm doesn't mean that's the design you will provide to individual clients, if that's his style obviously he will use it for his own sites. :v:
jared has not done a single design that wasn't in that style so i highly doubt it
The bottom line is that at some point, you have to take a risk. You have to put more detail in your work. You have to improve your process. You have to move. If you're designing like you were 5 years ago, you're not even standing still, you're moving backwards, because everyone else around you in the industry is moving forwards and time is always moving on when you're not. You put yourself at the risk of designing according to old paradigms and old design trends, which makes you a dated designer.
just dont be one of those dweebs that follows all the dumb design trends
Woah, this is powerful as fuck. http://aurelia.io/
Weren't a ton of ifaux's designs pretty straight ripoffs of other stuff anyways? lol
I swear to god ifaux did it too but maybe I'm wrong
I'm not an expert on WAYWO history so maybe he did.
it was much more recent than 4 years. 4 years is about how long ago the phpfog shit happened
I think that was the highest point of fp webdev now it's all boring and shit
I think that was the highest point of fp webdev now it's all boring and shit
most of the senior people left because we got bored of fp webdev since we grew up/got jobs and started doing more complicated/advanced shit
