Your customers disagree sir. As does your shitty hardware.
It had two years left three years ago.
It's 7 fucking years old. Your game developers are already bitching at you for the massively outdated hardware, as is your customer base. Please remove your head from your anus, Phil Spencer.
I wonder if they'll completely drop it when the next gen Xbox comes out, like they did with the original Xbox. Or take Sonys approach and still have occasional releases.
Oh my god seriously? Its 7 years old already, bring in a new one for fuck sakes.
I'd really like to see what would happen if Sony was to announce the PS4 ahead of the next Xbox. I wonder if that would even be possible?
Oh my god seriously? Its 12 years old already, bring in a new one for fuck sakes.
Yeah I know, but it doesn't seem that long ago it was 2000. Odd.
Your customers disagree sir. As does your shitty hardware.
How can their customers disagree when they're having a massive increase in sales compared to other consoles
Old strippers can have more than 2 years in them before they bite the dust, doesnt mean they can give you good sex though......
Xbox 360 is the Fidel Castro of consoles. People are just waiting for it to die.
Just let it diiiiieeeeeee.

Interpreted this as "Xbox 360 still has a little bit of money left in it"
They are just saying that so people don't stop buying 360's and wait\save for the next console. Consoles are all junk anyway.
It's a real possibility that the next Xbox console won't be out until 2015 or later, meaning that developers will be working with 10-year-old hardware.
I love my Xbox 360, and even though I showed up late in the game, it's time to make a new system. I'll still keep my Xbox 360 and play it until it becomes obsolete, though. It has had one hell of a run.
Smart move Microsoft.
There's a certain lineage of gaming consoles - the Nintendo 64, GameCube, PlayStation 2, and currently, the Xbox 360. But everything passes, Microsoft. There's no way around it, so start making a more powerful, more popular console if you want to stay in the running.
The only reason I haven't sold my 360 yet is because I play Rock Band 3 on it. Most of my games are on my PC and most of my friends play the PS3.
I was having a talk with a friend the other day about the effects of what we'd now consider 'low-end' consoles restricting the development of games. But look at the new Unreal engine and what's possible with that. Then look at the system requirements, which are ridiculously low. Look at the system requirements of Crysis 2, a game which was technically and visually beautiful (gameplay wise... nah). If there's one good thing I think the 'outdated' console does to the industry is that it makes developers work on engines until they're the most optimised, streamlined engines they can be, getting the best visual effects for the least possible hardware requirements. As opposed to what they were doing in 2007 with Crysis and making consumers pay for huge hardware upgrades just so that they could run the games.
I think they are pulling a Genesis here, remember the 32X and Sega CD? All was to keep Genesis living on, till they made shitty games and of course, SNES passed off to the N64. My history sucks, but it mighten seem it has to do with this topic, it kind of does in a way. But seriously, microsoft needs to make a new console.
Yes, that's because we're going to keep it on life support with shitty peripherals and gimmicks.

The 360 has aged very well and new releases on it can still look amazing for the old hardware it runs on.
As an Xbox360 owner, I'm kind of hoping at this point is that he means that the Xbox360 is like the PS2, and that it'll have a crazy long life span. But even then, Sony was supporting both the PS2 and the PS3 at the same time for a while, whereas Microsoft thinks it'll be successful if it just sits on its ass and only collects money from one console at a time. Also, a lot of the appeal, despite it's somewhat awful community, is Xbox live, and unless they streamline the same Xbox live service through both consoles without killing it on one or the other(which would be awesome as well as an excellent selling point), I can't see them pulling off what Sony did.

The 32X can be how they are still trying to keep it alive, like with Kinect.

Also, most people don't have ArmaII-at-full-graphics computers.
