Its funny because Dice were mocking COD for Elite when it was announced
Remember around last E3 when EA would make some jab at Activision or CoD and everyone would be like "Yeah! You tell 'em EA!" and everyone was more or less on EA's side? I think it's a testament to EA's competence and sheer PR talent that they've managed to take themselves from the role of anti-Activision underdog to the most hated company by ever gamer in the span of less than a year.
I've been saying it all along. EA wants CoD's audience, and this only portrays it even more. Fuck you EA. Now I'm definitely not buying your shitty faggoty expansion DLC packs of 4 weapons and two maps for armored bullshit combat that will just be assholes who are engy laying mines everywhere, or fucking RPG's one hitting your asshole of your tank. Stupid. Eat a DICK, EA. Somewhat angry. Sorry.
Elite wasn't the first premium service for a video game.
Yeah I'm sure the success of Elite had absolutely nothing to do with EA considering this and it's just a complete coincidence.
God damn it please no.
Unless something changes, we're heading into a video game dark age
hurr durr AAA titles are shit I'm getting most of my gaming enjoyment from indie games, mods, and games from mid-size developers.
Wow, gotta love people who bitch because of RUMORS!
Wow, gotta love people who bitch because of RUMORS!
Knowing EA, it'll probably happend.
Only cosmetics so no big deal, Unless of course for everyone who ISN'T subbed, they see a big fat missing texture like the Purple/Black checkered pattern in Source, until you do Sub That would piss me off
This sounds like something that EA would do.
I wonder how long it will be before studios finally realize that tying yourself to a big-name publisher is a horrible, horrible idea.
i don't mind.
hurr durr AAA titles are shit I'm getting most of my gaming enjoyment from indie games, mods, and games from mid-size developers.
You're missing the real problem here. It starts with 1 big name company (activision) willingly exploiting and extorting their customer base for more money with the pretense of "specialized goodies", then other big name companies see that it's doing well and start doing the same. Now we have multiple companies doing this, and it slowly starts to become an "industry standard." The moment it starts to become an industry standard to have to pay an extra monthly fee to get DLC that should be given to us for free as soon as it's released, we've entered the dark age. This has nothing to do with AAA titles being shit, it has to do with the companies making these AAA titles now turning them into cash cows.
And it happens.... http://www.computerandvideogames.com/348247/battlefield-3-premium-to-offer-all-dlc-for-a-one-time-fee-report/ How EA decides to turn Battlefield into a cash cow. It starts with making the battlefield series fully multi platform or consolised and will end with EA making the game a cash cow by making numerous sequels like Bad company 3. http://attackofthefanboy.com/news/battlefield-bad-company-3-mirrors-edge-2-spotted-employee-cvs/ There goes our beloved pc franchise (not to say there wasn't a console version of BF2)
If I was a rich billionaire I'd buy DICE from EA and make them independent
Buy DICE from EA and give financial aid to Respawn Entertainment, remaking the good old IW Put them together Call of Battlefare. I'd like to know what that would achieve...

A game stopped being developed with one platform in mind. Fuck I might as well kill myself right now then mustn't I! Oh wait. It doesn't fucking matter if a game is multi-platform. This "PC mastur raeccc1EE!!!" bullshit needs to end. Battlefield can work on all platforms. It's just a case of if can DICE pull it off, and if they can, will they stop listening to the fucking retards that constitute the community for Battlefield for long enough to actually fix important bugs in the game. Multi-platform games work. There is nothing proving they don't anywhere. The problems arise when developers are rushed, lazy or just awful. DICE seem to be somewhere in the rushed/ lazy bit more recently. They were pushed to get the game out early. And now take years to fix problems in their games. Besides BF1942, BF2, BF2142 where nowhere near perfect games. They were bug ridden shitfests for years. A reoccurring trend in DICE games. It takes them ages to get the game to the point you all seem to hold BF2 at.

I can't fucking wait for the day EA declares bankruptcy
As long as there aren't game-changing exclusives to the service and its a one-time payment (and the price is reasonable) then I don't really have a problem, it'll just sort of be like the Rockstar pass for RDR, LA Noire, and MP3, or the Saint's Row pass for the three main DLCs + a couple of smaller ones, or Uncharted's pass which just gives a discount on upcoming DLC.
well that's the end of battlefield 3 if this happens.
Yeah I'm sure the success of Elite had absolutely nothing to do with EA considering this and it's just a complete coincidence.
They didnt form the idea completely from tge success of Elite.
-Sniped- No longer a rumor it seems..WELP!
What the fuck is a premium knife?
What the fuck is a premium knife?
Shiny
So a knife that blinds your enemies the same way a tactical light does
"Worst company in America"
Who cares when there's Dota2, Max Payne 3, GTA V, Half-life 3.. That's enough games for like 5 years from this point forward.
