BioWare realizes that Star Wars: The Old Republic needs new content to entice players to revisit the game regularly
That and so much more.
Of course. Every MMO that comes out nowadays claim to be a "wow-killer", but they always fail. And kind of fade away :v:
Sure, SWTOR has it's share of problems, it is taking time to make the game what the players want it to be. But I am sure Bioware will do just that! 1.2 was a big step in the right direction, and I don't think they will do anything to make the game worse, only better. And I highly doubt this game will be fading away any time soon.
Maybe if it wasn't exclusive to Origin; I would play it..
Maybe if it wasn't exclusive to Origin; I would play it..
It's not.

It never claimed to be a "wow-killer", in fact when someone brought this up at a Q&A thing they got shot down and were told they could play both games because this wasn't trying to kill anything. 2. It's not failing, any other MMO would have lost almost it's entire player base by now, rather than lose everyone it's stabilized, which hasn't happened with any other MMOs (besides WoW).
Things like a robust "group finder" are in the works
I'll come back of this pans out ala WoW's dungeon finder.
It's not.
I can either buy the physical copy for £129.99, or download it through Origin for £45. (Which is still a very high price when you consider the monthly fee.)
It's digitally exclusive to origin; you can pick up the box and never install Origin if you want.
It's digitally exclusive to origin; you can pick up the box and never install Origin if you want.
He's right, you don't need Origin to play this.
Yeah, I bought the physical copy from Tesco for £30 or less and don't even use origin.

I don't know where you got the whole £130 thing.

If price is the problem for you, then buy it from a key site like G2play.net or intkeys.
They wont really have time to make any new content before the entire player base slips out of there grasp. The only way I see them getting more people is if they become a F2P model. But I doubt that isnt going to happen anytime soon seeing Bioware is quite a stubborn company (Me3 endings).

There's a bunch of MMORPG's out there that seem more interesting to me than TOR... ...like AION and the graphics with AION are also better.

Asshole. By "wow-killer" I meant that a lot of the MMO community were stating that it would be a wow-killer. Also, I wasn't talking about SWTOR specifically, I was talking about every MMO that comes out these days, like Aion, Rift and Warhammer.

Maybe if it wasn't an MMO it'd be doing better.
Everyone says the King that is WoW will sit in its mighty throne and no other MMO shall touch it But WoW has had almost 9 years of development time, with the full game and all the expansion packs costing over $100 just to get into it at one point. WoW had half the content at launch, if that, than TOR, and it sure as shit isn't fun grinding to the ever increasing level cap in WoW like TOR TOR's been out for 4 months. 4
Been playing since Launch (plus 2 beta test weekends before launch) Still loving it.
Been playing since Launch (plus 2 beta test weekends before launch) Still loving it.
I've been playing it for almost a year back when the first playtesting sessions started. Sill loving it.
Started playing at launch, quickly stopped. Started playing again a week ago and loving it.
Gentlemen, it's been an honor playing with you tonight.
I want a realistic MMO, were you actually live and create the world around you. In the style of Wurm Online.
I want a realistic MMO, were you actually live and create the world around you. In the style of Wurm Online.
As long as it doesn't take 20 years to do anything and theres animations/the most basic of a rudimentary physics engine.
Started playing at launch, quickly stopped.
