if snabbo was based in a 2d 3d format (like modern sidescrollers) i think it would sell better, just my onion. but good read very valuable for anyone looking to make a game in the mobile sector
I saw it but wasn't that interested because matching games have been done to death. Physics games or procedurally generated platformers tend to do very well as apps thought. Would be nice to see something like that. I always get hooked on procedural platformers because you know that the more you play it the more likely it is that you will get a higher score due to perhaps a slightly easier level coming up or the fact that you miss out on an almost impossible bit that you normally die on. Doodlejump is a great example of this.
I love reading this sort of thing sorry it didn't work out for you
Put it on Blackberry too

Welcome to Snabbo for BlackBerry! There are coloured circles on a 9x18 grid. What would you like to do?_
Just wondering, if you payed 1000$ for the adds, where did the other 4000$ went to ?
Just wondering, if you payed 1000$ for the adds, where did the other 4000$ went to ?
Unity license, maybe?
$5 a day. At that rate the unity license would pay for itself in 2 years.

You should try getting it on the Android Market instead.
What about Windows Phone :v: ?
I bought your game in May :unsmith:
Great article garry, honestly I really love all the statistics and insight. Very helpful. One thing though, you said it cost $5000 dollars to make Snabbo, but that includes the license cost for Unitity yes? Couldn't you make another game for much much cheaper since you don't have to buy the license again? My thinking is the way you make money with these simple arcade games is to make lots of them fast.
I liked the review by the older person. It was so kind.
You need some better attention-grabbing and sleek artwork. It may seem trite but it makes an awesome impression. In your post you talked about the icon and screenshots... that's all well and good, but if the game looks attractive then the screenshots will do more good.
Snabbo is awesome, it's just damn hard for me due to impairments :v:
I liked the game so much, I play it when I'm on the shitter. Unfortunately, you need to tweak the art style.
it just looks really boring
I think it's because snabbo is a cookie cutter piece of shit casual game. That's like trying to find a piece of hay in a hay stack.
Great read. That last image made me go all :shobon:
It's because it wasn't bird-themed Only bird-themed apps are successful, c'mon garry that's like App Making 101

Many game developers will benefit from this article. Great read!
One thing that would be pretty easy to fix – change up the red or orange color, please! They look nearly identical and I am, in fact, not color blind.
Garry, did your sales spike at all around the posting of this article? garry, GARRY. I am a "hardcore pc gamer" and I have a suggestion Make a garry's mod style sandbox game on the UDK with way way more prop shit, way bigger (and more zaney) maps, more stuff to play with and fewer physical limits and I'll buy it for $29.99 I promise.
614 dumbs lol.
I didn't buy it because it looked bad.
I'll buy it on Android.
Awwwh, requires 4.2 or later :(. I don't want to update my iPhone (jailbroken)
