Even he seems to regret making the comments he did. While it was (and is) an honest expression of how he feels, it's been taken and used to smear the movie and paint the absolutely false image that Mark Hamill thinks The Last Jedi is a bad movie.

Oh yeah sure it's not lawyers up the ass. [editline]13th March 2018[/editline] Also love the implication that you're wrong if you don't like it.
If anyone here has spent even a minute on Rian Johnson's twitter this would make sense, even if his post has NOTHING to do with Disney/Lucasfilm yet alone Star Wars he will still be getting messages of "You Ruined star wars' and "Star Wars isn't for you" by a large number of immature man-children who can't get over the fact it's just a movie.

Sounds reasonable. Also
I'm not saying people have to like the movie
I literally said you can not like it all you want. Mark Hamill's opinion on The Last Jedi doesn't even determine whether or not it's good or bad. He's just the dude that plays Luke Skywalker, he's not the authority on Luke or Star Wars and he never has been, and even he acknowledges that. One doesn't NEED Marky Mark on their side to 'prove' that it's a bad movie

[editline]a[/editline] I might be misremembering but I'm pretty sure the reason he stopped making them in the first place was fan hatred, something along the lines of "why bother making something everyone hates"

I'd say there's is a way better chance that his criticisms were honest than the apology was. Actors have to support their films. It's a part of the job.
