Good. No one wants you anyway
Apparently nobody wants an actually great game either. They could be doing the whole A-life thing again for glory and greatness. But no, they're back to making the shittiest linear corridors in FPS history.
I just hope that it will no longer require load screens between areas. I want a HUUUGE area with lots of shit to explore. Vehicles would be nice. Especially if they could be used for storage purposes or tinkered with for certain bonuses. If vehicles were implemented, they'd have to go all the way. Like rather than having some vehicles be better than others, I'd give every vehicle a strength and a weakness. Like a car might have shit speed/horsepower, but is very fuel efficient. A truck might have great offroad capabilities, but suffers from poor fuel efficiency. A military APC would have great armor, but terrible mileage and poor reliability. You could even go a step further and allow the PC to plug artifacts into the vehicle. Each artifact having a secondary function when used in an engine instead of a person. Like a flash or a battery might increase the lumen output of your headlights. A fireball might give you better mileage. Others could increase horsepower or speed. Or once you start getting the really interesting artifacts, they could start warping reality a little more to do things like reduce the effects of gravity on your vehicle or create a field which repels a certain percentage of incoming bullets. Or perhaps one that emits an exhaust which causes certain monsters to ignore you. A sense of personal connection with a vehicle would potentially help with immersion. Realizing that your only true friend in the game world is an engine with wheels attached, may drive home the suffocating isolation that would, ideally, be prevalent. EDIT: oh and I'd like to be able to see my feet and chest. Bonus points are awarded if looking down reveals the actual equipment (sidearm, armor, and perhaps artifacts) I have equipped and a (very) rough approximation of the number of rifle magazines I have remaining. Obviously with an upper limit to prevent it from looking silly.
I really, really hope they don't dumb it down because of consoles. It really is a solid game for PC, but they're going where the money is. Keying in more survival elements will be nice, though the no faction wars between Monolith, Mercs, Freedom and Duty.. Well, it'll be nice to have some peace in the zone, but they'll have to make up for that LARGELY with mutant details running rampant, or perhaps a faction crosses another and it just makes for a huge story. I do look forward to it, although I do not look forward to my computer not being able to run it lol.
Where is the bad reading rating. I need it right now.

It was quite good. It also didn't have very much of that linear shit if any at all.
PC will be that target audience
:neckbeard:
Okay, let's see...

More survival aspect Fuck yes
No faction wars Thank god
Return of spooky labs About fucking time
DX11 support Meh, couldn't care less, really
"Expansion of artifact application" Sounds good to me
PC version will not suffer It damn well better not!
Yeah. So far S2 sounds good to me.
I liked the faction wars system. It could be better by having less emphasis on that and more on you-are-on-your-own-here's-your-AK atmosphere. I mean Clear Sky had awesome moments like Limansk, but you keep repeating that it's not much different from Call of Duty.

That can only really be brought to fruition if it also feels like the rest of the world can go on without you. And the faction wars could be fought entirely without your help.
DX11 you say? Where did I leave my 2 480's laying around...
Fuck off, in SoC there where no faction wars
Actually you're wrong. There was. In Shadow of Chernobyl all the factions hated each other with a passion and were all working to get to the center of the zone. But then at the very end when the military caught wind of the brain scorcher being disabled they pushed everyone out of the cordon and basically forced everyone to get the fuck out and to the center. Everyone was forced to work together, and fight against the military. But hell if you disagree with that oh well. It's not like I beat the game yesterday. Last time I played it was 2007.
I hope that it will be much more scarier with creepier mutants. Abandoned, dark building and then some humanoid monster thing with deformed face is behind the corner... oh yes.

I thought at least some of it was the AI going to go send some soldiers to beat the shit out of each other for fun.
I wonder what they can add so that it doesn't feel too much like S.T.A.L.K.E.R 1. Because if they use the same area it could be too familiar. Maybe something like what Rockstar did with changing the Liberty City from GTA3 to GTA4?
