Apple is can go die. Now.
am I missing something here because this post is fucking abysmal
I can't be the only person who doesn't really like to do anything except watch the occasional movie anyway. I don't even have a reason to buy a TV in the first place, my 24" monitor is just as adequate.
wow you're dumb huh try "Apple takes an product which has already been out there for a little while, makes it seem new as though it's really great and awesome -> Everyone else matches thinking 'what the fuck we tried this a year ago and it flopped' it a month later -> etc." [editline]9th January 2012[/editline]
You're calling me dumb? You do realize what you "corrected" me with is the same thing, just injected with your own bias, right?
not necessarily
Riigghhhtt... as if you actually have to consider someone's intelligence based on their OS before you even read the fucking post to any degree. Disgusting.

Disgusting.
The only disgusting thing here is your intelligence After reading a post, I check their flagdog If they've made a stupid post and they're running an older windows or IE, I just consider them a bit poverty stricken if they can afford Apple's range of overpriced overbranded products, then I give them no benefit of the doubt
Yours for only $9,999.95! (excl. subscription)
internet TV like designs and 'more resolution!' are not new and that's not biased it's not an innovation for fuck sake
Maybe I misspoke. No, technology like that is not an innovation in terms of the technology itself. For example, the iPad only 'innovation' in that area was the multi-touch touchscreen (which wasn't even much since it had been in the iPhone and iPod Touch before). In the hardware department, it's not an innovation. However, it did put the spark into the tablet industry because it was popular (Mainly because of Apple's reputation, comparable to Activision's with CoD) and because people bought it.
90% of tv is still in SD. The only 4k movies I can think of are IMAX camera filmed ones..

Oh looks like Toshiba beat them to it. http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/08/hands-on-toshibas-55-inch-4k-glasses-free-3dtv
To all of these companies trying to get me to buy bigger and higher res tvs. All I have to say is simply this. Laptop/computer + Netflix = Best TV you could ever ask for. Seriously, I just don't see the point in keeping up with TVs anymore. The nice ones seem rediculously expensive (then again I have low income.) I wish Apple the best of luck in a new venture, and I hope they don't dick up the TV industry.

Sounds awesome, but I imagine it's going to cost an insane amount of money.
Sounds good, hopefully it won't be too expensive.
Ubuntu TV is coming, along with Google TV's Android alternative. This is going to be interesting.
Apple just literally takes things we already have and makes them pretty and idiot proof hate all you want but its true, phones, most smart phones can do what an iPhone can, yeah they aren't polised and made from glass but they can still do it, nobody cares though because they don't look pretty same with iPods, allthough iPods are probably apples only worthwhile product

Before the iPhone, the touch screen phones were shite. Let me remind you.

They tend to last longer than their competitors' counterparts and have astounding build quality, and their customer support is pretty much unmatched.
if you call that astounding build quality haha
Why is Apple hated so much on facepunch? They seem to always be building innovative products. But no way in hell am I buying that new TV
Ultra High Resolution, Apps, Voice Controls BUT NOTHING TO WATCH
So much blind hate in here. Apple could create the cure for god damn cancer and people would still call them a terrible company.
Wait, Apple isn't even attending CES, yet somehow this site managed to talk only about Apple? This whole article is only a rumor, I doubt even half of it will actually come true. But yeah, what else could you expect from a site called "Cult of Mac"?
the O2 XDA was released a year before that device you pictured was
Wait, that's basically the exact same design iOS uses for the lock screen. Is that a port of iOS (which is near impossible if I recall), an iOS feature recreation (if the phone is open enough) or are Apple being incredibly hypocritical?
Cult of Mac is a terrible source of news, more biased than Fox.
So much blind hate in here. Apple could create the cure for god damn cancer and people would still call them a terrible company.
Apple would probably charge extortionate amounts for it and ensure that no other company can produce the cure. Basically, evil. Just because they can do good doesn't mean they aren't assholes to competitors.
iOS theme
Ahh, thanks. There were no hints to that in the URL or anything. So I was genuinely confused.
Apple would probably charge extortionate amounts for it and ensure that no other company can produce the cure. Basically, evil. Just because they can do good doesn't mean they aren't assholes to competitors.
That's business.
I can't be the only person that thinks the idea of an app-supporting gesture/speech controlled tv is fucking stupid. The only thing I really care about is how it won't have bezels. And since the thing will be so expensive, I doubt people will buy many of them so I believe it kind of defeats the purpose.
