A UK comedian has hit back at internet trolls with a song parodying her online abusers. Sick of putting up with vitriolic comments written about her by anonymous internet users, Isabel Fay responded with the spoof song "Thank You Haters". In a video clip of the song, Fay performs an ironically cheerful song-and-dance routine at a cafe. She reads a comment by a troll saying: "i hope you get cancar. but id have a go on ur tits", before thanking the poster for their input. "I'd like to be absolutely clear that I am responding to abuse not criticism," Fay told the UK's Telegraph newspaper. "Criticism is absolutely fair enough, and is to be expected, but what I don't like is the level of abuse — and I've received a lot of sexual aggression." In the ultimate form of revenge on the trolls' home turf, Fay's video has gone viral after it was uploaded to YouTube yesterday.
Source: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8481162/comedian-hits-back-at-trolls-with-song Trolls have their own song to counter this one. Three songs, actually... She says 'not to feed the troll' yet this song is handing them a big delicious steak with extra seasoning on it.
An inferior form of "haters gonna' hate"
hearing her say "trowlling" makes my skin crawl
the video God it's fucking awful
I hate the word haters...
This is fucking stupid
i hate hate haters
I thought it was going to be something funny. Something similar to this video. Disappointed
The frak did I just watch? Although, I've never heard of this so called 'comedian' anyway.
Hardly "hitting back"... why make that video if it didn't annoy her?
I love how the article describers the comedians criticizers as "~online abusers~~~"
I thought it was quite funny to be honest, it was quite clever. She is hardly responding to 'trolls', she is just making a song about people who post constant abuse on her videos. Just another case of the media calling anyone who says a bad word on the internet a troll. *EDIT* Nevermind she says trolls in the description, but still...It isnt really like shes 'HA LOOL I BEAT DEM TROLLS AT THER OWN GAEM'
Man, I enjoyed it. With the exception of the clip-art monkey thing, it was really well produced. Just a bit of lighthearted fun at the expense of some dumb shitlords.
a general rule of thumb is saying anything along the lines of "fuck the haters" instantly subjects you to all forms of ridicule [editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
The internet now (after being televised): "get cancer fgt" "THIS JUST IN, A CYBER HACKER COMPUTER BULLY JUST SEXUALLY RAPED HARASS TERRORISED THE COUNTRY OF INTERNET AND MADE THE DRAMA QUEEN KILL HERSELF"
Who the hell would even want to abuse her, ew. And why is this news? This is nothing original or new.
It's not a very good song. And now anyone who comments on her video saying that it isn't very good will be labelled a "troll" or a "hater". I didn't know who she was before now, but I now know that I don't like her.
she looks like katy perry and that alone makes me hate her
Ha, ha. Silly trolls and haters! Nothing you can say really effects me! I'm going to post this video to prove it!
"Criticism is absolutely fair enough, and is to be expected, but what I don't like is the level of abuse — and I've received a lot of sexual aggression."
Y'know, SOMETIMES, WHAT YOU GUYS SAY IS REALLY HURTFUL! :( WHY CANT U COMMENT ON MY VIDEOS PROPERLY INSTEAD OF MINDLESS INSULTS OMG
In the ultimate form of revenge on the trolls' home turf, Fay's video has gone viral after it was uploaded to YouTube yesterday
They feed on attention you dumbass That's all they want
I hate the word haters...
Haters and trolls? Which is it?
Why is this in the news nobody died
Why is this in the news nobody died
YET
I thought it was going to be something funny. Something similar to this video. Disappointed
what did the guy say to the comedian?
YET
Oh no I am calling the police what is your address, name and skin colour?
Oh no I am calling the police what is your address, name and skin colour?
I think skin color is the only thing that matters here.
what did the guy say to the comedian?
This sounds like a setup for a really terrible joke [sp]"Glad you remember"[/sp]
what did the guy say to the comedian?
"-The first time I ever had sex..." "Yesterday?" *Multiple seconds of laughter* "Glad you remember." Anyways, it always drives me up the wall when somebody accuses someone of being a "hater" since it's very likely that "hater" is just a critic - and all it's gonna do is show that the accuser can't accept any sort of negative response properly.
The song is cheesy to the point of repulsion, maybe that was the point.
I wrote a very intellectual scathing remark on her web page about the nature of criticism and its necessity in modern society. It was promptly buried by several thousand comments along the lines of "YEH FUK HATERZ" I'd rather read witty insults than mindless compliment.
