Hahahahahahahahahahaha.. wait were you being serious? Do you even know how many guns there are in America? A couple decades isn't even close to enough time to get rid of all the guns here.
Reading comprehension. Do you have it? Where did I say remove all the guns? Where? Or can't you argue for shit.
I live a couple towns away from where this happened. Our school's parking lot had to be monitored by police cars when we left today, and they cancelled all after school activities across the board. It's scary that all this happens so close to home.. And the totally fucking ironic thing is, I had to write a paper against gun control today. Even scarier, this was probably happening as I wrote it..
One guy fires a gun, everyone draws and panic insues. People won't know who the offender is, might hit others, and just get confused.
That's why there's training.
1) Reduce the gun culture. Do we have to have dozens of movies come out every year with people shooting at each other while looking like burrito-stomping macho men? No, not really.
there are PLENTY of foreign films like that it's definitely not the problem really, it's just a distraction that argument is as bad as saying "video games make people violent" gun culture != movies with guns
Are his motives known? Also I love how this thread just turned into a gun control topic instead of focusing on the tragedy on hand.
"The low incidence of gun crime in Switzerland is sometimes attributed to the fact that Switzerland is wealthy but also isolated. Social problems associated with gun crime in other industrialised countries, such as drugs or urban deprivation, are not widespread. Swiss men and women learn from an early age to associate firearms with defense of their country.[14] While Switzerland has a strong 'Gun Culture', and hunting is popular, the high level of support for guns in the home is largely based around the fact that Militia service is such a strong part of Swiss society. In Switzerland the vast majority of gun related deaths are from suicide rather than homicide.[15][16]" Basically everything american isn't. Hardly supporting American's case now is it.
This kind of sums it up for me. Americans are fucking dumb, we own too many guns but banning them or trying to get rid of them won't fix anything. Then you have only the people who are getting them for illegal purposes getting them and the people who want them for sport or what have you no longer have access.
I don't see the big issue with gun control, perhaps I don't know enough about the subject, but surely sacrificing your extensive gun collection to prevent quite a few deaths from occuring is totally worth it. Is there some kind of data comparing the killings with guns to lives saved? (citizen use of course)
Why should perfectly sane individuals that keep their gun collections in unreachable places be forced to give up their property? The problem is with murderers getting guns, not just guns.
Because getting my Canine Partners for Life for the sake of carrying a gun makes perfect sense, you dolt.
It's not my job to make sure your post makes sense, it's yours. Nobody should have to Google anything to make your comments cogent. Trust me, it will make you a better writer in the long run.
the school was a gun free zone. he couldn't have brought a gun in there. it's a fact!!!!
That's my point... how would the situation have been any worse if the teachers or administrators were allowed to bring guns into the school? Assuming that Connecticut doesn't hire insane homicidal teachers, I doubt the shooting could have gotten any WORSE as a result of concealed carry, only better. The situation might not have escalated as much.
One guy fires a gun, everyone draws and panic insues. People won't know who the offender is, might hit others, and just get confused.
People also tend to assume that lax gun laws=everyone is armed and everyone is going to shoot each other, but I feel like people who like to shoot in their free time will have a gun regardless; the number of gun owners is not going to change. Plus I think people with concealed carry permits require some sort of training or classes, people aren't going to pull out guns willy-nilly and shoot randomly.

And quite honestly, people like yourself should try more than simply making excuses.
The jackass that apparently did this is Ryan Lanza.
That's why there's training.
Arming and training every single citizen in the US to the point of perfection. Totally feasible.
Americans are fucking dumb
Oh man, way to get your point across, you xenophobe.
Because me giving up the contents of my gun closet is going to save lives. Maybe you should give up your steam account because it will prevent OTHER kids from being lazy and playing games all day.
Glad you agree with me
Arming and training every single citizen in the US to the point of perfection. Totally feasible.
Where did I say every citizen. Where. Point it out.
18 children, between the ages of 4 and 10? What the actual fuck? I hope everyone affected by this is going to be okay mentally, especially the children.
Haha oh wow, was listening to the Dead Kennedys on my computer and "I Kill Children" started playing. I'm going to hell.
Please do go on I want to hear the rest of this
Well, think about it, the smart people will only use them if they need to, ie self defense and/or against the people stupid enough to actually go out and try to shoot people merely because they own a gun. I say if your stupid enough to do something like that, you don't deserve to live. The only problem would be trying to find a place to put all those bodies. I'm very busy now, but you get the point I'm very busy right now, but you
You said we should do the same thing as Britain, which practically makes nearly all firearms illegal, the time and resources it would take to confiscate even a third of the guns in America would be absurdly high.
No I didn't. But then again, you can't read for shit. Higher than to invade Iraq and Afghanistan? Or don't you have priorities for helping people in your own country.
Higher than to invade Iraq and Afghanistan? Or don't you have priorities for helping people in your own country.
Oooookaaaay I think you're going off on a bit of a tangent there.
Weapons don't cause violence. But if a mentally ill person has access to a semi-automatic weapon it does tend to mean more people are killed in the incident than if all he can find is a chef's knife, an ornamental sword or a baseball bat.
Where did I say every citizen. Where. Point it out.
I'm guessing you jumped in way out of context. Ahem:
How about we just arm EVERYBODY so when something like this happens people will be able to defend themselves, others, and keep the situation from escalating.

Huge groups of people shooting guns at eachother. Brilliant.

How does that even make any sense? Will registered gun holders suddenly all start shooting each other?

One guy fires a gun, everyone draws and panic insues. People won't know who the offender is, might hit others, and just get confused.
