I wonder though will this take up extra resources when broadcasting.
is there a way to get your own link, so you can link it to others?
figured it out it's http://steamcommunity.com/broadcast/watch/(your steamid64)
No swearing? Good luck with that.
Oh god, I would forget I had that then watch some porn.
I believe that's for when the game is running but you minimize it, so it should be less of a problem unless you happen to feel the need to watch porn mid game
I wonder though will this take up extra resources when broadcasting.
Yeah see my post
If you have a low end computer then it will fuck your pc up unless you set the broadcasting settings on very low The increase in CPU for me is 10%, to get an idea of that, a LAN server on gmod on gm_flatgrass with a handful of addons installed is 4% of my CPU.
Time to stream me flying into the ground in DCS http://steamcommunity.com/id/WhiteFox08/ [editline]2nd December 2014[/editline] also 1080p is bandwidth consuming
I believe that's for when the game is running but you minimize it, so it should be less of a problem unless you happen to feel the need to watch porn mid game
[sp]The game doesn't close properly or crashes, and stays in the background only visible in the task manager.[/sp]
I updated to try it and then I can't connect to Steam anymore. :v:
pretty well optimized, streamed a bit of dark souls and there was hardly a dip in performance (which is awesome given the optimization of the game itself i was expecting a big FPS impact)
I think they are doing all of this to make Steam OS ready for prime time. But they need to polish everything up a lot more before they go full head on with the steam consoles
So what's the required minimum upload speed for this? It doesn't work for me or any of my friends; stream starts at perfect speed but then freezes forever for everyone. Even at lowest settings.
Ha, I could have used this the other day when a friend wanted to watch me play something. I do have a question for anyone who has used it. Does this broadcast only the game's sound, or does is broadcast everything?

I wonder if I can use this at work? maybe my work mates that all have steam accounts can jump in when i'm coding something or trying a new feature, since the broadcasting thing has almost no delay and there is private streaming.
Fuck, it tells them if i'm watching them. Now i can't spy on people without them knowing it's me.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/BnMih8O.jpg[/t] Yes, it's a game sold on Steam.
So practically you don't want to even talk at risk of getting banned? Also wouldn't this ban some stuff like The Witcher for having tits in it?
So how exactly is steam gonna regulate it when I'll be streaming to friends only?
I just noticed you can actually rewind streams while they are live. Twitch should copy that.
JTV had that when they started getting popular, actually. I don't know why they removed it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/BnMih8O.jpg[/t] Yes, it's a game sold on Steam.
Seems to be quite good too
[t]http://i.imgur.com/BnMih8O.jpg[/t] Yes, it's a game sold on Steam.
Someone bought this for me when I jokingly said I would stream it, I backed out because I didn't want to setup a stream but now steam makes it so easy I might just do it.
It's probably the most streamed game already.
Is that even a game?
Whenever i'm streaming it just stops and turns off every 20 seconds, its happening to my friend too. Is anyone else having this problem?
It's probably the most streamed game already.
How do I view anyone that is streaming and not just on my friends list? Like popular streamers
How do I view anyone that is streaming and not just on my friends list? Like popular streamers
"Broadcasters" tab on community. [editline]3rd December 2014[/editline] Well that didn't take too long
Especially with the whole "When you're playing a game and someone starts watching, you automatically start broadcasting" part. .5 Mbit upload speeds and streaming would only result in huge pings. Hopefully that's changed when it goes out of the SCB.
Except it doesnt automatically start streaming, by default you have to accept them to watch your stream.
One of the first and biggest streams right now and it's a guy hacking at Advanced Warfare while the chat rants about how he's gonna get banned
seems to be alright so far, i streamed some USFIV and it ran a liiiitle bit below 60, which is probably due to the fact that my opponent was across the world. i don't think it's going to replace hitbox and twitch tho, because there's a lot of under the hood stuff that i don't think steam's going to offer.
no swearing? really? fuck
"Ah fuck OH FUCK I DIDN'T MEAN TO SAY FUCK SORRY, SHIT." Sometimes it just comes out, too. I tripped up the stairs earlier at school today and I may or may not have exclaimed "SHIT" near a substitute teacher.
I was streaming initial d earlier. Had about 50 watchers.
