Both were given medals today http://www.itv.com/news/2014-03-21/one-in-a-trillion-bullet-soldier-honoured-for-bravery/
A soldier who was shot through the neck but carried on fighting to save his comrades has been given one of the military's highest awards for courage. Doctors told Lance Corporal Simon Moloney the odds of the bullet missing his airway and major arteries were "a trillion to one," but despite bleeding heavily, he returned to his post and carried on firing at insurgents for 90 minutes before being flown to safety. A colleague who risked his own life to treat him has also been honoured. "I thought that was me, game over," said Simon, who serves with the Blues and Royals. "To me that was it, I had a few minutes to go out with a bang and do what I could."
Wesley Masters looks like Jim Carrey.
Adrenaline as a helluva drug. Wounded soldiers do crazy shit all the time. Still, guy's objectively a badass.
God damn admins, fix this! It was a clear headshot and the guy didn't even notice it ffs I am so fucking done with that imbalanced shit

Jim Carrey served?
Thats just crazy man. But crazy shit happens in war. A friend of mine stepped on a landmine and survived completely unscathed besides a few fragments in his face that didnt even require stitching. CRAZY i tell you!

If you hit that area your shot would just go through thin air.
Man, now THAT is a badass move.
My old man was shot in the neck during the Gulf War and didn't notice anything. One of his friends pointed it out to him and said "You've been shot in the neck." My dad had assumed the trickle down his back was sweat and had carried on fighting. He was a lucky fucker.
I hope I perform half as well if I ever find myself in a similar situation. I gotta hand it to you Brits, you guys are hardcore.
The fellow was fortunate that nothing major was hit, else he would have been a dead man. But then again, it's always better to end up a living hero than a dead one, so to speak.

Then again, war: crazy shit happens.

Man! A shot in the neck. I don't know how you could survive that shit, that's almost impossible...
ROTC Cadet, looking to go to National Guard basic this summer.
Hah, nasty girl. On topic, good of the soldier to stay in the fight. Even being grazed is enough to put someone into shock and be incapacitated, let alone a through and through wound in their neck. This is the mentality I strive for, no matter how dire a situation gets I want to stay in the fight next to my battle buddies.
