In an origination specially devoted to defending the rights and lives of other people. That's kinda, well, retarded.
Well thats just how armies around the world are
He's life in prison will be peachy. Everyone will salute him for doing what he did.
Alaska
Of course. One of the most backwards republican states commits horrible crimes...
Wait for the American haters :v:
I'm American and I'm glad. The fact that he's in the Army makes it worse. Makes us look bad. He's nothing more than a murderer.
Isn't that kind of human righrs abuse?
the army doesn't give a damn about your quality of life that's why the rations say 'SUITABLE FOR MILITARY OR PRISON USE'
24 years is a god damn long time. That should be enough to stop him committing any more murders.
the 24 years part isn't that bad, it's the 7 year parole that pisses me off.
Good to see justice being served.
Yeah, like food. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Implying that justice is nothing but a matter of geography.
Why not? They killed two people and tried to get away with it, one of them was very young. Take the life of two people, and only get 24 years? The only idiot here is you.
I think the point he's making is that locking someone up doesn't fix anything, and that it's not justice. I would agree, most prison systems just hide the problem, and their rehabilitation programs are outdated jokes. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] I'm glad they're at least dealing with the people doing these kinds of things, though.
What people could do is take the age of every person murdered by the murderer, and add up on it which would equal in how many years he gets in prison. Say, he murders one 20 year old, and 1 15 year old, he'd get 35 years in prison. Could that work? The murderers would get to spend the total lifetime of each individual he murdered in prison.

What if he murders three 1 year olds.
What if he murders three 1 year olds.
True :v:
In before "24 years isn't enough give them life" idiots.
Except he's gonna be released in like 7 years.
that sentence is lenient as fuck for american standards
I'd rather die than spend 15+ years in prison. I think a lot of people are confusing US military prisons with Norwegian luxury penal resorts.

But turning law into a mathematical formula is retarted.
Except he's gonna be released in like 7 years.
should be enough for someone that went into a shithole like that and managed to come out alive
What they did was horrible, but I can't help but feel sorry that he'll lose 24 years of his life in jail.
What they did was horrible, but I can't help but feel sorry that he'll lose 24 years of his life in jail.
He did a man's crime, and he has to be a man about it.
I'm going to go ahead and predict that this guy stays in the for the full 24 years. You don't seem to understand that this is military prison. The guy murdered civilians in cold blood, cut off trophies, and posed with their bodies for photographs. He made the Army look like a collection of bloodthirsty murderers. His parole will have to approved by a military parole board--all of them veterans. They're going to make sure this guy serves every minute for besmirching their honor like that. The only reason his sentence isn't longer, I'd warrant, is because he's agreed to testify against the other people in his "kill team." I can live with that. Military prison is as bad as it gets, and a quarter-century of it is no joke. At least this way the entire "team" goes down.
He did a man's crime, and he has to be a man about it.
what if a woman did it? oh right, 25 to life in the kitchen
Good to see But...
What people could do is take the age of every person murdered by the murderer, and add up on it which would equal in how many years he gets in prison. Sure military prison is tough but cutting short two lives for thrills calls for atleast 50 years, because by the time they get out their probably going to be in their 70s.
-snip- feel guilty
Oh THIS guy again.
I don't know what's more fucked up, the murderer or the 24 year sentence.
The murderer. The sentence is fine.

Imagine if he had done that crap in the states.
