That's actually the least painful thing I can think of, as the brain contains no pain receptors. Many people have been shot in the head, stabbed in the head and not realized it for days or even weeks.
There's a case of a sergeant in Iraq getting stabbed in the back of the head with a butcher knife and not noticing for a good fifteen minutes. I'll see if I can find it. to be honest I hope he doesn't survive, I think it'd be quite bad to survive attempted killing yourself [editline]22nd February 2012[/editline] Also it sounds like he shot himself through the eyes from the temple, which is quite common
One of my favourite side characters in Seinfeld, hope he pulls through.

Likely blinded himself for life, firing through the temple and both eyes, he said he couldn't open his eyes anymore. Very sad thing to hear.
Likely blinded himself for life, firing through the temple and both eyes, he said he couldn't open his eyes anymore. He had his wits about him during the call. That's probably a good sign for his recovery.
I hope he's okay, I loved him in Seinfeld.
My grandfather was a diabetic and also had to get his both his legs amputated. At times I'd say suicide was a preferable alternative, especially near the end.
He said he could open his left on a bit but he probably got blood in it or something, I dunno, I hope he makes a good recovery, or dies because that was his aim
Well its really considering how he feels about the situation. Despite whatever his condition with diabetes may be, blowing his brains out a hour or two before family arrives seems like a rash and not thought out decision. Him calling 911 leads me to believe he doesn't want to die anymore. Im assuming this because he still had the ability to take his life if he wished.
This makes me really depressed - I am a fan of both shows and enjoyed his part in both hugely - ESPECIALLY Maclom in the Middle when he showed up in the Arctic.
I've been stabbed through the wrist and it did not hurt. Dunno what the deal there was.
I once was messing about with a baby pin and it almost stabbed right the way through the tip of my finger. I only noticed when I seen the blood.
That's actually the least painful thing I can think of, as the brain contains no pain receptors. I kind of have to think the more fucked up thing is that the 911 call is, you know, readily available to a gossip website. God, he's such a cool guy too
How do TMZ get these things?
How do TMZ get these things?
if you've got anything on celebrities, gossip websites/what ever will pay big bucks for you to leak it to them.
How can you shoot yourself in the temple and still be concious?
Hard skull.
Why couldn't it have been that punk ass, ugly ass kid :\
I couldn't help but chuckle at the article and how they decided to add in "oh, and he used to be in Starship troopers" near the end
Listening to that whole call just sent shivers down my spine. It's really terrible.
That's actually the least painful thing I can think of, as the brain contains no pain receptors. The brain is the most important part, you'd think it would want you to know that it's being damaged...
That seems really backwards. The brain is the most important part, you'd think it would want you to know that it's being damaged...
The human body evolved to deal with a certain set of threats. Most of those threats cannot break through the skull. The ones that can, well - you're dead anyway. It doesn't do you any good.
Chief Grady NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The 911 tape made me :(.
There's a case of a sergeant in Iraq getting stabbed in the back of the head with a butcher knife and not noticing for a good fifteen minutes. I'll see if I can find it.
I read about a woman who was stabbed in the head with a knife, and went to the grocery store without realizing. They had her on security tape walking around with this knife in her head for ~1 hour before someone said something, IIRC. Anyhow, this is awful. I don't watch any of the shows he's been in, but it sounds like he was in a very desperate place. I'm not sure how the human body can survive something like this, but we know that there have certainly been cases in the past where people have recovered. Here's hoping whatever happens, he finds some peace. I also find it morally abhorrent that the 9/11 call is online; people don't need to be privy to this information, and I'm sure he/his family would not wish for it to be circulating.
It's possible he shot himself above and behind his temple (Just) which is an extremely hard part of the skull. It's been known to stop bullets I just can't imagine a .38 ripping through, from one side to the other, a brain and the guy surviving. I'm kind of thinking the bullet may have just barely penetrated but got lodged. He said he could open one eye [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline]
Well its really considering how he feels about the situation. Leads me to believe he thought this out in advance. Do it hours before someone is supposed to show up, leg amputated, toes to be amputated... that kind of Diabetes only gets way worse before it kills you anyway
kk
I don't know what about this post, but you came off as really fucking annoying. Probably because it reminds me of when girls just say kk all the time to everyone.
He was one of those actors that always got a side role and was always fantastic in them.
