Like anybody would rape them.
and it just became pathetic time to strap my vagina on and get empowered!
I'm really starting to not like you. I'm really not seeing what they're accomplishing. People thinking differently about the victim in rape isn't going to stop rape.
You didn't read the damn thread did you they're not protesting rapists as much as they are the attitude that lets rape be a more minor crime.
a lot of them are rape victims how about you stop pretending the last thing that got your dick wet wasn't the sweat from your palms. nobody thinks you're tough because you insult rape victims on the internet nobody is buying it.
Oh how I've missed watching you tear into people like that.

This is the internet, and worse, this is facepunch.
18-year-old FSU student, SlutWalk Tampa speaker and rape survivor Teagan Alexander said she goes to clubs, likes to go out and likes to look pretty.
She's from my high school.
Did you seriously come into this thread expecting condolences and support, rather than fat and ugly jokes? This is the internet, and worse, this is facepunch.
I expected at very least some degree of literacy. Clearly that's too much to ask given most people in this thread didn't read the article and just started talking shit about the picture.

Then again, most people don't care if it doesn't directly involve themselves..
I expected at very least some degree of literacy.
A lot of people just look at the pic and assume, 'hur dyrp ugly girls wanting attention!!' without reading or anything. Then again, most people don't care if it doesn't direction involve themselves..
Why is the internet so anti-feminist?
I figured someone was going to make the shitty joke, why not I and rake in some funny ratings I must be absolved of my sins
The shitty joke makes you look like a ponce.
The way they're presenting the argument makes it sound like the only motivating factor in a rape is the woman dressing provocatively.
Why is the internet so anti-feminist?
more anti-woman que "OH IF A MAN TALKED ABOUT RAPE IT WOULD BE CONTROVERSIAL BUT IF A WOMAN TALKED ABOUT IT SHE'D BE AWARDED MONEY LIFE IS SO BIASED TOWARDS WHITE MEN bla bla bla"
The way they're presenting the argument makes it sound like the only motivating factor in a rape is the woman dressing provocatively.
You've never heard some jackass use that line? If you didn't want to be raped you shouldn't have dressed like a slut? That's one of the primary lines assholes use in an attempt to blame the victim. Blaming rape victims is a huge fucking problem in terms of getting more recognition for the crime that has been committed.
You've never heard some jackass use that line? If you didn't want to be raped you shouldn't have dressed like a slut?
I've never heard that line and I've never heard anyone try to justify a rape.
doesn't mean it's not used to justify rape sounds more like you're just ignorant about rape...
Girls shouldn't dress like sluts anyway.
doesn't mean it's not used to justify rape sounds more like you're just ignorant about rape...
Or I don't associate with rapists.
I've never heard that line and I've never heard anyone try to justify a rape.
The line is used frequently whenever the fact that most rapes go unsolved is discussed publicly. Furthermore, that line of thinking is why most rapes go unreported. Victims, male or female, tend to feel ashamed about it. They tend to feel like it was somehow their fault, because of that sort of horse shit. This protest is encouraging victims, regardless of their gender, to come forward and report the crime, and it's spurring police to actually put some real resources into solving the crime. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline]
Or I don't associate with rapists.
you don't have to associate with rapists to discuss the fact that most of them get away with it.
Or I don't associate with rapists.
you sure? because 15 out of 16 rapists will never go to jail.
Did you seriously come into this thread expecting condolences and support, rather than fat and ugly jokes? This is the internet, and worse, this is facepunch.
hey stop posting
Why is the internet so anti-feminist?
because nothing is more threatening to internet nerds with no real problems than people challenging their privilege
All the guys supporting look like they are pussies and let women stomp all over them
Girls shouldn't dress like sluts anyway.
they should dress however they want in fact i hope more girls will dress like sluts without damage to their being or health. that way everyone wins.
you sure? because 15 out of 16 rapists will never go to jail.
And that's out of reported cases. Countless more go unreported.
All the guys supporting look like they are pussies and let women stomp all over them
right because obviously protesting against rape is a negative thing.
hey stop posting
Who cares, as if that is going to make a difference.
Who cares, as if that is going to make a difference.
i love how you guys get all up in arms when someone looks at a cat the wrong way but when there's a protest about rape, PFFFT WHATEVER, BITCHES. i see facepunch is just as chock full of sociopaths as it ever has been.
they should dress however they want in fact i hope more girls will dress like sluts without damage to their being or health. that way everyone wins.
That kind of ruins the effect of the attractiveness.
i love how you guys get all up in arms when someone looks at a cat the wrong way
you don't understand lankist i can actually touch cats
Who cares, as if that is going to make a difference.
if you didn't have this attitude it would make a difference :ironicat:
The line is used frequently whenever the fact that most rapes go unsolved is discussed publicly. Furthermore, that line of thinking is why most rapes go unreported.
I understand that, but that's not the message they're getting accross by doing this, they're putting too much focus, or at least the sources who report on it, are putting too much emphasis on how women dress as opposed to the idea that they shouldn't be ashamed of it, and that they should report it. Not to mention there are going to be many other factors that contribute to rape more than how a woman is dressed and by focusing on this one excuse they're taking the focus away from them.
