TORONTO - A massive stage collapse before a Radiohead concert at Downsview Park in Toronto Saturday has killed one person and injured two others, Toronto paramedics said. No band members were believed to be on stage at the time of the collapse, but concert crew were working on stage when it fell shortly after 4 p.m. Radiohead cancelled their performance. "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Radiohead show at Downsview Park tonight has been cancelled," the band said in a message on its website. "Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue. "The collapse occurred as thousands of fans were already lining up outside. Toronto police said they were not confirming the death and would offer an update in the near future. The collapse is the most recent in a string of incidents at Canadian concerts over the past several years. Last year at Ottawa's Bluesfest, the stage collapsed during a Cheap Trick performance, injuring three. In 2009, the main stage collapsed at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alta. One person was killed and 15 were injured.
Source: http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Radiohead+stage+collapse+kills+before+Toronto+concert/6794371/story.html#ixzz1xzs6TNn8
They're on track to a smashing performance
Thats horrible. For some reason im still glad it wasnt a fan though. Like what happened in belgium last year.
Seriously, if that had happened a few hours later, it would have been a fuck of a lot worse!
my GFs sister was on a sub train to go to this concert when she heard it on the news
Fuck man, that's awful. I hope it doesn't happen again when I'm going te see them..
I got to see them when they were in Maine. Nothing like this happened then, thankfully.
oh man my friend is like suicidal over this she was looking forward to seeing this show for MONTHS and now it's cancelled
oh man my friend is like suicidal over this she was looking forward to seeing this show for MONTHS and now it's cancelled
Tell her to just go stand under the stage next time they come to town then
This is painful.. I'm just wondering how the band would feel, as their being together inevitably caused someone's death. Not that I'd think like that but still.
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse? (User was banned for this post ("Trolling or just dumb. Why would you post this?" - Dragon))
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
why do you hate music?
oh man my friend is like suicidal over this she was looking forward to seeing this show for MONTHS and now it's cancelled
Well human life is greater than a concert.
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
yes
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
Most likely, the rest of us actually has common sense.
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
Get lost, mate.
Shit, I just saw them in Camden on Wednesday. I hope they don't have to get rid of the setup they were using, it's fucking awesome. The hanging panel screens look like a hazard if they aren't rigged properly, but it sound like the whole damn thing collapsed.
I don't like this band so I wish they were dead

This is painful.. I'm just wondering how the band would feel, as their being together inevitably caused someone's death. Not that I'd think like that but still.
I bet that the tech company feels a lot worse than the band. Their reputation is totally destroyed and they caused a death, since the death is most likely a human error on their part.
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
Are you a fan of Oasis by any chance?
This is horrible, I fucking love Radiohead.
Their performance brought down the house.
SHITSHITSHIT MY FRIEND WENT TO THIS
Are you a fan of Oasis by any chance?
why am i not surprised someone asked this.
SHITSHITSHIT MY FRIEND WENT TO THIS
well if you read there weren't any fans inside the area at the time, only lined up outside
Fake plastic support beams.
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
Why couldn't it have been you?
Are you a fan of Oasis by any chance?
Maybe, I don't really want to know.
am i the only one thats wishing they were on stage during the collapse?
i don't like their music so their entire life they've spent years working on and enjoying should end along with all of the things they looked forward to very funny & original 10/10 well thought-out and edgy
