I think the first version I played was in some gaming magazines CD. I remember the SPAWN-RPG and the countless hours of fun I had because it would make the objects get stuck if you "spawned" too much and this way I stacked TV's or melons or something. I didn't have Internet back then, got it pretty late.
Why did you ever replace RPS with shacknews, garry :(
I'm pretty sure they can coexist.
I remember way back when my dad first showed me Garry's Mod with the spawning of blocks via buttons was still in.
Aww, when my dad showed me it it was Garry's Mod 9 :(
I first played GMod on a pirated copy of Half-Life 2. Gmod 7, I think? Good times. Who remembers gm_hugeflatmap_v4? With the trebuchet that always breaks, the lightsabres, the big-ass RT screen... I also remember being blown away when I get a slightly more modern graphics card (a GeForce 6200, if I recall correctly) and being able to turn up all the game's settings :v:
I knew Garry worked as a PHP-programmer for a dating site, but I never knew he created his own. Does it still exist?
I learned about it from my classmates in Highschool. All of whom proceeded to never play it again after a couple of weeks. My friends always tell me about how awesome some game is and pressure me to buy it. I finally do, then they all stop playing a week later.
Welp, no nostalgia for me
Yeah, I know, stolen video, but it's all I could find for now.
So after the death of PHW and the closing of the comic subforum, are there anygmod comic hubs anywhere? That was probably my favourite aspect of gmod [sp]probably because I was introduced to it via concerned[/sp]

Damn I which they had at least archived the comics somewhere. I tried the Wayback Machine but it's just a bunch of broken images.
I didn't know Garry had a dating site.
Gmod was the first game ever that I bought on Steam and I bought it because of all the community videos around it. I have never regretted the 934 hours that I have spent on it. Since that first purchase, I have made MANY life-long online friends and IRL friends that happen to also own the game. Also sent that purchase.. I have invested over $1500 into my steam account over 4 years

The Gmod community has changed drastically since I've been here. I remember in the earlier days of Gmod when woodwars was like the king thing to play. I even remember being one of the first to order Gmod 10 when it finally released.

I still have the map.

I remember when animated playermodels were new and exciting.
So what's this dating site called
I only installed into gmod because I saw a video with someone setting up a dominoes track out of blast doors. My life was changed.
So what's this dating site called
Facepunch. Give me a time and place, baby.

I regret not playing GMod more. I kind of stopped a year ago because I am terrible at construction and am only mediocre at Wiremod and Spacebuild. Also because all my mods broke and the updates didn't work. It takes me forever to weld together things at even angles so they don't move lopsidedly. I did play a hell of a lot of zombie survival and fort wars, though.

I am too lazy to learn wiremod, pretty much stopped playing when that went major. I'm playing the occassional gamemode here and there though.
I owe Garry a lot. My YouTube channel is mainly Gmod videos and they have given me many opportunities. In fact they lead my to my first real acting job. Gmod 4lyfe <3
PHW was full of assholes, which led to its downfall.
Ooooh usaokay, the number of times you managed to get yourself in trouble over there. Fuck me do I ever miss making comics, though.
