• Mitt Romney is the official Republican pick for president
    104 replies, posted
Republicans have nominated former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for president, culminating a long primary fight and setting the stage for a close contest against President Barack Obama. In a roll call of states Tuesday, New Jersey put Romney over the top, giving him the prize that eluded him four years ago. Romney is scheduled to accept his party’s nomination in a speech Thursday night. Republican voters flirted with a carousel of GOP rivals before settling on Romney, who effectively clinched the nomination in May. All of Romney’s former GOP competitors have endorsed him, with the exception of Texas Rep. Ron Paul. Paul did not have enough support to have his name placed in nomination, but he got votes in roll call. Poor Ron, I knew he wouldn't get the nomination... But I would've loved to see him have a fighting chance.
No fucking way
I'm glad to see Ron didn't endorse him, he actually has standards
Romney has no chance.
I don't think I want either Romney or Obama to win. Republican or democrat, I'm always disappointed. Maybe I'll vote for a third party after some research on who to pick. inb4 a vote for a 3rd party is a vote thrown away
was expecting a ronald reagan robot and a ayn rand blowup doll as the official pick and that's what I got
lol
Actually it'll probably be closer than we'd like to think.
So from here on in this will either be a hilarious interlude or the end of the world as we know it.
the apocolypse is here ron paul 2016
My vote goes to Obama.
Couldn't be bothered to screen cap, but these comments are why the world is confused by American politics. crystal_quartz 2 minutes ago Ahh, the beauty of the smart people rising up, in America. Like 1 person liked this.

It would break the revolving door of politics and (Hopefully) help do-away with the horrible partisanship, and also because there are plenty of good candidates in the smaller parties. I know I'm not voting for any of the major parties in 2015 (Canada, that is)
"I’m not familiar, precisely, with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was." Mitt Romney.

i nominate Jill Stein even though she's not even likely to be nominated president of my local vegetable co-op.

Unless 100% of both parties switch to independent, all that will happen is that one of the parties will have an easier time of winning. Even if it did work, it'd still be a two party system, just a different two parties. The system is broken and voting third party is not the way to fix it.
oh god obama please win
This; America needs Obama to have a second term. If Romney ends up in power, America will be in serious danger, and considering America's power on the world stage, so will the rest of humanity. They don't need another wasteful war or some sort of vile "Romney inquisition" to run the states into the ground.
