Then you suck
I'm a sucker for TES.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/rYCum.jpg[/img_thumb]
Having not played Oblivion much, if someone asked me if this was from Oblivion instead of Skyrim, I probably would have said yes. I'm really digging the environment the town is built in, being surrounded by mountains and all, but it feels like there's a lot missing to this picture from the final product.
Man I hope that isn't a town. Look at it. That would be a nightmare to navigate regularly.
For the last time. You know why it doesn't look like Oblivion? Because it's visually interesting. Stop staring at the gravel and rocks and comparing textures and start looking at overall designs. There were no valleys, crags, tall ruins, waterfalls of that height, or structures of that caliber anywhere in Oblivion. If all you do is hold two textures up in a microscope then yes it will look the same. But as a whole that picture looks nothing like Oblivion, and looks much better infact.
Yes, this is what we're talking about, you pay a caravan, or ride your horse to fast travel, and you can watch a cinematic of what your character sees and you can take control at any time. The speed up or slow down is just so you can see only what you'd like to see. And, this would follow roads to the cities, and if a road ends, it finds the safest path to the next road, and so on. So, essentially it's "Random Encounters" fast travel combined with paying a service, or using a service you own, except you watch all of your fast travel, not just the "Random Encounters" part.
The speed should be provided by the transport, not some timelapse. There's nothing wrong with taking time, the purpose is to make it take less time. If you can just fast forward through it the world starts to feel small. Which is why I'm going to get rid of fast travel whether or not there is alternatives.
When you look back, sure - a year goes by so fast it's not even funny. But when you are in the year, time flows slowly.
Get yourself into a coma.

For those worried about having shadows: There are even self shadows.

Well they better not have the shadows fade out on the PC version like it will be doing in the console version. I would not forgive them for that. Though surely some mod could fix it. But still Bethesda, I'm watching you... :ninja:
That's not really possible with conventional shadowing. It'll have to fade out at some point. But god damn... no self shadows?! What the fuck man? What. The fuck.
That's not really possible with conventional shadowing. Ofcourse they should fade it out when they reach the point where it's no longer noticeable. They should also lower the resolution of the shadows in the distance.
[sp]Probably late but[/sp] Holy shit you will be able to mine, cut wood and cook! [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] And farm! [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] I hate when you get info like this and the game is so far away.
Just because of that, I think I'm going to buy this game. I don't care if I have never played an Elder Scrolls game, this just looks pure awesome.
Didn't bother reading EVERY page but just check out gameinformer. They pretty much answered every question from the first page. (late)
I will drop a sword im the street, watch the shenanigans, and then duel the person who got the sword. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline] Wait, what will the guards say? WHAT THE FUCK WILL GUARDS SAY WHEN I HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW?!
