Hopefully a new engine means we won't get items floating two inches above tables like in fallout and oblivion.
it's a leveldesign miss. iirc they're frozen until bumped/touched to increase performance
The game looks fantastic. Hopefully this engine will carry over to future installments of the Fallout. I'm not a graphics whore, but the Gamebryo engine is looking a bit aged. I think the Fallout series deserves better graphics, so that the post-apocalyptic, retro sci-fi, hellscape can be fully realized.
Oh look, rocks everywhere. New engine? Now for the finishing touches; GREEN TINT! Mammoth companion, following the exact same plot Dog meat had. You guys are getting your hopes up too far.

I don't even know what you're talking about there, no screenshot so far has had any green tint at all. And that mammoth thing is pure speculation based on a single sentence. Nice try, but you're a moron.

Same with New Vegas, I'm just saying don't get your hopes up with Bethesda games because in a couple months you'll realize how bad they are.

I for one genuinely liked Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas (although I really don't see why you're dragging Fallout games into this. If anything you should be criticising Oblivion since it's not set in an entirely different universe) and I'm likely to enjoy Skyrim too. I'll admit they're not the most polished games out there but they're fun and I certainly don't think they're bad. My opinion of them is exactly the same as the day I bought them. You're essentially telling people to stop looking forward to a game because you didn't like games by the same developer.

Bethesda is a one trick pony. Their games will almost always be extremely similar in terms of feel and gameplay. I was taking a shot at the engine more so than the Elder scrolls series because they're all on a slightly modified gamebyro engine. If you accept that their games are sub-par and treat them as so your hopes won't be crushed when you get another diagonal brown-n-bloom monotone First person RPG.
Cliff Racers? yes or no please. The answer will make or break this game.

What I did say however, was that they're not the most polished games. There's a difference between that and being "sub-par". If I thought of them as sub-par they wouldn't be among some of my favourite games. Besides that, it doesn't sound like you even played Oblivion because it was far from "Brown-n-bloom" and Fallout was supposed to have that visual style anyway, so that's hardly even an argument. Furthermore all of that still doesn't change the fact that you're trying to tell people to stop looking forward to a game. That's hardly your decision to make, now is it?

He doesn't stop bitching in general.
Make friends with endgame boss. Borrow his amulet of the dragons. Game Completed.
The devs are using Havok Behaviour technology for their animations. Anyone who ever played Oblivion or Fallout 3 in the third person should appreciate that this is a giant leap for mankind. FINALLY JESUS

New Vegas was made by an entirely different team and was amazing. They are by no means perfect, but they have directly addressed most of the flaws that plagued oblivion and mentioned that they will be resolved for Skyrim. Even if they come through only half of those, they will be set.

Oh yes, mammoth! Can't wait.
i hope they make the dialogue better [editline]19th January 2011[/editline] "hi i'm broius broheimius we just met let me tell you all about me stranger"
Well, I'll need a new computer.
"The close-up on NPC faces that occurred when you talked to anybody in the Oblivion engine was because they didn’t have any idle animations for when talked." So they were too lazy to add in a few idle animations? Dammit, they better not be lazy or rush Skyrim.
Can we turn in to Huey Lewis and go back in time and recreate New Vegas with this engine? I love the game, but orgasms aplenty with this.

Are we supposed to be worshiping Infinity Ward? Bethesda has used the Gamebryo technology for a little too long, but it has served them relatively well when it comes to making open-world games with interesting stories and your typical RPG elements. This is the time for optimism as they are longer using the Gamebryo engine.

Fallout is guilty of this, as little things like needles would like to move and then clip through objects and then is impossible to find.
