Original headline: White House says Trump slurred during his speech about Jerusalem because his throat was dry
The White House said President Trump’s slurred speech at the end of his announcement about Jerusalem was no more than a case of dry mouth. “His throat was dry. There’s nothing to it,” White House spokesman Raj Shah said when asked to explain why President Trump garbled “God bless the United States” at the end of his remarks on Wednesday recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announcing plans to build a U.S. Embassy in the disputed city. Pressed on whether the slurred words might indicate any health concerns, Shah said: “I know what you’re getting at. I’m saying there’s nothing to it.” The slurred word prompted questions on social media about why the president stumbled over the phrase at the end of his speech.
Source: The LA Times (the above Tweet is not meant to act as a proper source for this story, just a video with subtitles) This has raised concerns about possible health issues with Trump, as well as the sloppiness of his signature compared to previous Executive Order signings. Normal signature: This EO signature: It's probably nothing, especially the signature bit, but figured I'd mention it. The slurring sounds like far more than a "dry throat" to me.
I, too, write like a drunken idiot when my throat is dry.
It sounded like he was slurring the whole speech to me.
As much as I'd love to believe his health is failing this seems to be much ado about nothing
Jesus it sounded like he was having a stroke.
I don't know if it really matters, but the man CLEARLY has dentures. Here's a video that very clearly shows it - https://streamable.com/qo5pz
It would be bizarre if this was caused by him drinking, as he's very opposed to it after seeing what it did to his brother. Unless the stress finally broke him down.
Looks like his denture glue wore off.
I, too, write like a drunken idiot when my throat is dry.
wait what's wrong with the signature?
wait what's wrong with the signature?
Letters became much taller, wider and less clean. It might not matter too much, but your signature (especially if you write it often) shouldn't change that much for no reason.
As much as I'd love to believe his health is failing this seems to be much ado about nothing
I agree, most accusations right now are pretty baseless; either way, it's strange to see and I figured people would want to see Trump slurring, regardless of the reason.
He genuinely sounds drunk the whole time.
I don't know what is causing the slurred speech but I have difficulty imagining it's due to a dry throat.
god, if hillary had done this you wouldn't have heard the end of it
god, if hillary had done this you wouldn't have heard the end of it
Frankly I'm surprised she is still alive based on what I heard from some people here during the campaign. They were talking like she was one step away from deaths door.
prime Vic Berger material
I know this guy has a serious mental health issue happening to do with alzheimer's. He just does, every symptom is there. But this is just a case of dentures coming loose, no biggie. A bit funny though

To me it looks like he was given a different pen
Jesus it sounded like he was having a stroke.
We're not that lucky.
While "God bless The United saesh" is great, this doesn't seem particularly noteworthy.

My signature had never looked similar all the time, and I doubt most people’s have. This is not a sign of poor health or mental derangement, it just looks like a dude writing differently
I barely noticed a difference. I mean there is one but it literally means nothing...

Of course, thats because i didnt write it often before that, which shouldn't be the case for him
We're not that lucky.
Look I don't like Trump, but I don't wish bad health or even death on the dude. I want him impeached but I don't want him to suffer.
"he slurred his words a bit, i hope this means he'll fucking die"
Lots of things lead to slurred speech, and in the case of a 71 year old POTUS who's never been genuinely stressed and never worked a hard day in his life we should ideally be extra careful. Especially because speech center disorders (Which includes slurred speech as well as the autistic speaking patterns he has) are centered around the brain. Alzheimers, strokes, intoxication, infection in the brain, side effects of serious medication etc etc. IF this goes nowhere then ok we good (by which I mean bad, cause he remains in office), but if he has significantly fewer public appearances and continues this pattern then ?????
I just find it messed up that people want him dead. I've had relatives that have had strokes that left them severely handicapped. I've had family friends fade away before my eyes due to Alzheimer's. It's something no one deserves, and you should never wish it upon someone else.
There's a big difference between Trump and your family members though.
There's a big difference between wanting a politician out of office and wanting them fuckin dead.
