[editline]17th January 2016[/editline]
Here's the digital snaps from the same hype shoot as the polaroids I posted earlier I feel like my editing is getting slightly better and a bit more refined with each shoot, still keeping my style but less harsh and a bit more 'accessible' I also really want to shoot some stuff other than hype lol [editline]14th January 2016[/editline] shout out to him1411 for holding a reflector for some of these shots and being moral support
this is great work omg
I love the cold, moody look of our winters. [t]https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1666/24427411595_24d2c91202_o.jpg[/t] [t]https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1594/24427411325_ba3d7bbd95_o.jpg[/t] The second picture is a bit of a shame because I love the lighting and framing, but I had AF on to save my hands from the cold and it never quite focused on anything :C The out of focus branches in the edges/foreground look nice to me at least.
honestly it was probably those or the horizon
Ooh! New thread! You should see more from me soon. I'm taking yet another photojournalism class, and this one's apparently harder. I'm excited.

Is it like it's artistic and it works because it's so conventionally un artistic and unconventional? Like taking a really "bad" photo on purpose so this somehow makes it good because it's intentional? Or is it supposed to be like a connotation on how super perfect everything that's seen as good an artistic is, yet its completely subjective and there's no real objectively good or bad image. To me that probably seems like the most likely thinking behind it, as opposed to it being bad for the sake of being bad which for some reason makes it good. Then again you could say the fact that I've spent longer looking and thinking about these shots than probably anything others in the last few days probably makes it better than the usual "heh nice shot colours r gud" thought process that goes on. idk, deep. The thinking about this image though brings up thoughts related to how say if a famous artist or photographer took a really conventionally bad photo, it would still be amazing and good simply because they were the ones to take it, which is something I generally disagree with. tl;dr I don't get this type of stuff generally it just seems like bad for the sake of being bad which somehow makes it good? idk But then I'm not saying it's a "bad" shot really because as above I said it's all subjective and there's no real objectively good or bad shot [editline]17th January 2016[/editline] someone explain pls

Seems descriptive of the personality of both the subject and photographer
I dunno maybe I'm just overthinking it
Probably. I'm not a huge fan of it myself, but I can at least appreciate what the photographer was going for. It's a bit too "family snapshot" for me, though.

It reminds me of Martin Parr and Bruce Gilden in the fact that he doesn't follow conventions. It's an exploration into vulgarity and obscenity and it conveys something about the subjects persona.

I'm just not sure how I feel about the whole being different for the sake of being different thing. I guess it depends on your thought process when capturing the images Got asked to shoot the poster for an upcoming dystopian post apocalyptic play. They said they wanted something distressed featuring a close up of a characters face looking all dirty like lara croft or something, ended up with this: I think it looks a bit lacking at the moment but don't really want to "distress" it more as it's gonna have the titles and names of the cast etc all over it like a movie poster so I think it will look decent then
tried some urban shooting idk what I'm really doing but i tried
I like them. Clearly you're focusing more on geometry than subject matter, and that's a strategy that really works when you're doing architecture stuff.

I find it really hard to shoot horizontally since I feel to get this kind of aesthetic I prefer to shoot vertically. Thats why 95% of my photos are portrait mode haha. I can imagine myself taking the same shots but my way and it'd have a pretty similar feel but at the same time really different. Also, its so weird what kind of sceneries you find throughout the world. Ive never seen neighbourhoods like that last one where I live
Forgot I shot this a while back. [t]http://puu.sh/mBqvF/77e64621c0.jpg[/t] Bonus seal: [t]http://puu.sh/mBqAC/3e470b2c03.jpg[/t]
