I have the Facepunch Prototypes steam game and I was wondering if this is actually updated or if it's old. It's got a buuuuuuuuunch of games that I don't see devblogs for as well.
Nah, I'm pretty sure it's been abandoned in favor of giving out individual steam keys to beta testers
I've had in installed since forever and it hasn't updated in a loooong time
Could you show what games are those?
They're nothing special and the last update was from 2016, the date appears the 30th of August since that's when I installed it (today).
Surf Shogun is pretty fun, but the rest is sort of or very incomplete.
I can't really describe it, it's sort of unique, or atleast I don't really remember seeing anything like it.
The rest aren't really remarkable. Facewound is the most complete game after surf shogun and that's a 2004 game that garry was making before gmod. I don't think it's ever been changed since then. To list the rest:
Arcade doesn't work since it's kind of multiplayer only, and, unsurprisingly, there's no one playing.
Absorb is a weird game where you're a ball gobbling up small things. It's also one of the few games in Unreal Engine 4 from facepunch. I can't seem to be able to make servers anymore (it's also a multiplayer only game) but yeah, it was sort of like a very unfinished katamari damacy, if you will
Beep crashes for a while, then opens to a black menu that's only option is joining a server.
Biscuit is a unity videogame with apparently 6 levels but I can't even get past the title screen, which is suuuuper basic.
Deuce is, well, Deuce. It's on the blog. It's even got a bunch of videos and everything. You can see how it plays over there. This and surf shogun are possibly the most complete games in here. It's a shame it never got realeased since it's pretty fun.
Facewound is like I said above. You can even get a download just for facewound somewhere I'm sure. The game's out there.
Music box is kinda weird. It instantly opens up to this. You can click these boxes that don't seem to do anything? The music is kinda cool though. Eventually some menus pop up but I don't know what any of them mean.
Skytest was probably used for rust. It's simply a scene with a dancing bear and a day-night transition. The bear's animations are really fucking smooth though.
Space usurper is 8-bit space cunts. I can't seem to find facepunch's page for it, although if you look for Space Cunts or Riftlight name change you'll probably find it on google. It seemed fine, this one is just a basic space shooter, with destructable pixels and what not. Kinda reminds me of atari I guess. It's fun.
The blob is sort of weird? It's an isometric shooter I guess? There's really absolutely nothing to do here. Hell, it's still called "New Unity Project". Many of these seem like they were worked on for a few days and then they just gave up.

Last but oh my god definitely not least is troubleshooter. I thought this was that GTA clone but no, it's some sort of twin stick shooter? Again, it's fun but it's not like it's never been done before.

If the facepunch team is fine with it I wouldn't mind putting up a .zip or something with all of these games. Or, uh, if they're not fine with even the existance of this post then ban me I suppose. I don't think I broke any NDA, hell, I don't think there's an NDA, keys for this thing were being given out like candy a few years ago, kinda like the beta keys for GMod 13. However, unlike GMod 13, this didn't really seem to turn into anything :/
