I hope that they got their food first. Those All Star Breakfasts are worth it.
People are dead.
This happened about two hours from where I live, police are still looking for the suspect https://twitter.com/MNPDNashville/status/988011270384312323?tfw_creator=BBCWorld&tfw_site=BBCWorld&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fnews%2Fworld-us-canada-43855097
apparently the death count is up to 4 now
At the risk of sounding insensitive just glancing at the title did make me think it was a new instalment of those films with Leslie Nielsen in them. On a more serious note I do hope they catch the bastard soon, the one saving grace is that unless he has a butthole made of cast iron he's not going to be carrying any more ammo than was already in his gun.
Even if he did have more ammo its useless because he doesnt even have the gun anymore
Yes, but this guy was apparently from Illinois. He was investigated in 2017 for trying to scale a fence at the White House and had his guns restricted but his dad gave them back to him. Police only found 2 of his 4 known guns so they're worried he's still got two more
Grew up near Morton. It's usually classified as the upper middle class area of central Illinois, but some real shitheads come from there, so this is fairly unsurprising.
They still have not found him. Police are still searching.
Scary. Heres hoping hes not going to strike again.

Do you really think a no-guns rule is going to stop someone willing ro shoot and kill 4 people? From what JerryK said above, he shouldn't even have a gun

The BBC article in my OP has been updated with some new information: At a press conference on Sunday, Mr Shaw said he had heard gunshots and glass smashing as people ran for cover. He then hid in the restaurant's toilet area but the gunman shot through the door, injuring his arm. "It was at that time that I kind of made up my mind - because there's no way to lock that door - that if it was going to come down to it he was gonna have to work to kill me," he said. When the firing stopped and the gunman was looking at his weapon, Mr Shaw rushed him and a scuffle ensued. "I hit him with the door and the gun was kind of jammed up," he said. "I grabbed it from him and I threw it over the counter top." He then forced the gunman out of the restaurant. Waffle House CEO Walth Ehmer praised Mr Shaw's actions and hugged him after the press conference. "You don't get to meet too many heroes in life but you are my hero," he said. While being treated in hospital for his injury, Mr Shaw was told by a girl that he had saved her life.

Fucking props to the guy who got the gun away from him, that action alone saved more lives.
Humble guy, too. “I didn’t really fight that man to save everyone else. That may not be a popular thing,” said Shaw, a Nashville native who went to college in Tennessee and now works as a wireless technician. “I took the gun so I could get myself out” of the situation. He said he was glad others were saved. His father has a level head on his shoulders and clearly raised him right. “I take no pride in him charging a loaded gun,” James Shaw Sr. said. “I do take pride in him helping save the lives of other people.” It'd be interesting to analyze fight or flight in similar situations - a lot of people are happy to be called a hero, but this man is quick to say that he was trying to save himself, and that bystanders weren't his motivation. In my eyes he's still a hero, taking that risk, because despite his intention he DID save lives.
Man, OP Is missing a huge detail here. Waffle House gunman is on the run with AR Reinking had his Illinois gun license revoked last year and four of his weapons seized in October at the request of the FBI Guns were returned to his dad who has admitted to giving them back to his son The AR-15 used in the Waffle House shooting was among the four weapons Police said one of Reinking's four guns is still unaccounted for and believe he may be on the run with it Weapons were seized after he was arrested at the White House last July after trying to jump the fence to 'kill President Donald Trump' Reinking also told cops that Taylor Swift was stalking him and hacking his phone This dude has his guns taken AWAY from him for jumping the White House fence and trying to get to Trump and is all around fucking crazy. In August, after the White House incident, Reinking told police in Tazewell County, Illinois, that he wanted to file a report about 20 to 30 people tapping into his computer and phone. He also complained that people were 'barking like dogs' outside his residence, according to a report.
Why the fuck were his guns given back even to next of kin or parents? They were his, he lost his legal right to own them, that doesn't mean you can just give them to the next in the bloodline because "property", especially the circumstances surrounding this incident should have made it extremely questionable to give them back to anyone close to him.
