FromSoftware's legendary Dark Souls will get a new lease of life on Nintendo Switch. The much-rumoured re-release will arrive on 25th May, almost seven years after the game originally arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This new version has previously popped up in retailer listings (and for PlayStation 4 as well), so it's not a huge surprise to have it shown today. That said, the confirmation of another another classic third-party title for the platform's library is certainly welcome.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-01-11-nintendo-switch-is-getting-dark-souls-remastered
I sold my fucking Switch, ffs. Other than that, I would rather prefer a Demon's Souls remake. I don't see the use of a Dark Souls remake.

It's a beautifully flawed masterpiece that deserves a bit of extra love. Also I can see the release news articles: "Dark Souls Remastered is the Dark Souls of Remasters"
Hopefully they add in a few of the quality of life updates from the sequels

I would love to see the later parts of the game redone or polished, they were quite rushed.
Is this the Dark Souls of remasters? EDIT: confirmed above
Hopefully they add in a few of the quality of life updates from the sequels
Quality of life & changes to certain areas to make it not a straight bumrush through it (Demon Ruins) because nobody ever spends any time in those areas in DS1, they kind of have a blank slate to add some new stuff.
Well, better get around to dusting off the Great Bow and Silver Knight set and set foot in my old stomping grounds again.
Selling a wildly successful platform less than a year into it's lifespan is pretty shortsighted tbh
for some reason more people than i would expect have done that on here and its an amazingly bad move to make
Maybe I’ll finally be able to beat it this time.
Selling a wildly successful platform less than a year into it's lifespan is pretty shortsighted tbh
I do not play games anymore despite really liking the console, funds are needed elsewhere. That said being able to play Darks Souls on a portable device is really neat.
time to buy a switch
Praise the motherfucking sun
I was looking into giving Dark Souls a try. Should I wait for this or just play the original on Steam?
I hope by Windows it means Steam and none of that Win10 store bs
I was looking into giving Dark Souls a try. I would be vastly more interested in a Demon Souls remaster
I hope by Windows it means Steam and none of that Win10 store bs
I saw the steam logo on the trailer.
Says PC on the trailer's title, so I think we're good
I can't wait to grind Switch babies to dust.
On switch? Portable dark souls?? Oh baby yes.

And i'm honestly excited for updated visuals too. The game visual design holds up ofc but I want to see how it'd look when proper optimisation and way more power gives more polygon budget to already good designs. If the price isnt crazy, the ports are good and the visual update worth it, I might get it on PC and switch.
I would be vastly more interested in a Demon Souls remaster
Pretty sure Sony owns the rights to Demons Souls so that's not gonna happen.
This is really neat but actually expecting them to rework areas like Lost Izalith is just setting yourself up for dissapointment.
Oh man, I can't wait to get the remastered edition. Maybe then I'll actually be able to play the game with my friends. I really hope that From revamps the multiplayer into something like DS3's multiplayer where you can password in phantoms. It would also be nice to not have to use a mod just to get multiplayer to work 'well.'
And I was just thinking about playing through it again. I'm pumped!
When this comes out, I will own three versions of Dark Souls, three versions of Dark Souls II, and two versions of Dark Souls III. How do I stop the Dark Souls? And as much as I love Dark Souls, I have to second the opinion that I'd rather have Demon's Souls, since I still haven't even played it. Dark Souls already exists on PC and in my opinion the graphics don't really need an update.
I would be vastly more interested in a Demon Souls remaster
Hell, I'd be happy if they simply ported it to PC. That would be really nice, and I would buy that the second it came out.
