Michael Zaydel, who goes by Champagne Torino on Facebook, had numerous misdemeanor warrants out for his arrests in multiple jurisdictions, police said. The 21-year-old, who had been the subject of the Redford Township Police Department’s “Wanted Wednesday” Facebook post this month, wrote on social media that if the RTPD’s next Facebook post got 1,000 shares, he would turn himself in “along with a dozen doughnuts.” “And that’s a promise,” he wrote. “And I’ll pick up every piece of litter around all your public schools let’s see if you can get those shares.” Well, the department accepted the challenge, and went on to get 1,000 shares – more than four times. “As you can see below, if we can have this post SHARED 1000 times, he will turn himself in to RTPD on his existing warrants, clean up blight on public school property, and bring us a dozen donuts. Donuts!!!! He promised us donuts! You know how much we love Donuts!,” the department wrote on its page earlier this month. “Help us win this challenge and clean up blght [sic] in Redford at the same time! It's as easy as a SHARE of this post.” Their post has since been shared more than 4,500 times and Zaydel kept his word. On Monday evening, the 21-year-old “walked in on his own” with a container full of doughnuts, and one bagel.
i have to wonder if this will help his case in court. he peacfully turned in and offered volunteer work i legitimately have to wonder if it will be taken into consideration. There were misdemeanors afterall.

There are actually a lot of people who don't know they have misdemeanor warrants out for them for things they did that was caught on tape, or while intoxicated, and cooperation with the law and a demonstration of good will usually gets those reduced.

Glazed is objectively the best donut. Followed by Old Fashioned. Then sprinkled.
Donut tier list incoming. shit list
no custard no list saw this on fb a week or so ago, the police department said they would "look into using social media more in their investigations. I like this idea that they start exclusively catching criminals based on "if this gets x number of y I will hand myself in". In it for the viral status

Sounds like he already knew he would be busted and wanted to set the record straight anyways. This will likely help his case in court.
