I think I'm getting close to being done with this. It may still need a few tweaks, but it's just minor stuff. Also, it only has minor clipping issues with all of the sunglasses-type misc items, so I'm not really worried about that.
A lasso? v:v:v
Really late reply to this but a lasso would require custom animations and all that and I'd rather just make something that fits with the Engie's default animations. Wrenches and hammers work, but the difficulty is trying to think of something that hasn't been done yet that still looks rustic and rancher-y. I looked for tools that are used for shoeing horses but as far as I know it's just simple hammers and whatnot, none of which are visually interesting enough to be worth making.
Have them as stones that give off those properties and have them embedded into the side of the weapon like you would with a jewel, maybe giving off a small distinctly coloured trailing glow from it to help identify it from a distance
I have just learned drawing jewels is hard.
I started doing in XSI, but I'm complete newb. I'll just follow tutorials and begin slowly. I made this, but it's far from perfect, but I'll improve it over time. I'm thinking of making it like some helmet for Demoman, I might tweak the pointy part. I also need to get all plugins so I can texture in Photoshop and so on.
Try a free program, that watermark will get annoying than you know. Either get a Student version of 3ds Max or get Blender.
XSI mod tool is free as far as I know, and I think it only shows watermark because I print screen'd directly from program.
Anyhting you make with XSI Mod belongs to them though. It's buried deep within the T&Cs. Best go with Blender tbh.
Hmm, I didn't know that, I'll switch to Blender then.
Just thought that I'd say; For my attempt at getting back into modeling, I'm going to make this. It was too damn adorable to pass up. Flaregun?
Would be interesting if you could set this up to be dual-wielded maybe? Edit: Yeah I've had better ideas.
i hate when a pageking is dumb.
i hate when a pageking is dumb.
There is no need to be a dick, bro. He was just making a simple suggestion, and it's not like the pageking matters whatsoever.
Hmm, I didn't know that, I'll switch to Blender then.
I used XSI too before switching to a student license of 3ds. It was a bitch to get, but I managed it. I don't regret getting 3ds at all, it's much better than XSI in any way possible.

All are good and up to you to make a choice on which to use.
Blender or 3ds are your choices usually, there is always Maya though. All are good and up to you to make a choice on which to use.
I could never get used to XSI though. But yeah, Blender, 3ds and Maya seem like the best choices.
I could never get used to XSI though. But yeah, Blender, 3ds and Maya seem like the best choices.
Here's my opinion on the wares. 3ds Max is for more professional hobbyists, that's a weird combination, but it's more fro people who want to do the job as a profession later in life, or in their life right now, but not full time or not fully. Blender is for hobbyists and usually a starter program to go up (I hope lol) Maya is fully professional if I recall correctly, I'm not familiar with it, but it seems most big companies use it over 3ds (Valve, Ubisoft, etc) They're all good but some fit other people better, as do most things. They're all hammers with different grips, heads, and handlers.

New user here. With a few ideas for later but for now, this. Has anyone suggested to Valve to make styles for the Market Gardener? One how it is in-game now and one pre Uber Update? Ya know... The way it was half opened kinda? Also been trying to learn Blender, kill me please. Fast. By the way, Eeshton, I was the one who suggested that metal-plate-in-head for Heavy. I haven't been on Facepunch recently until now. What happened to that?
I think Blastproofium should look like an explosion crystalized and fireproofium could just rip off the pokemon stone.
I wanted the "proof" (resist) section to be sheet metals. They would be like model overlays on the weapon, kinda like patched on or something.
Kill me.
Later.
