Sweetness.
Posted this in the other thread.
Anyone looking for an actor? I love playing Pyro, and got a shitton of hats for him. Okay, so for the LA Noire project--I had a suggestion I'd like to pass by all of you. Right now, I remember folk talking about using custom recorded voice lines--and as such--that means that they probably want to overlay them over the video. I was suggesting, that instead of just overlaying audio over mis-matched facial expressions--that I have the audio files sent my way. I can go ahead and add them to the manifest file and make choreography files using facial expressions and the voice lines and all that jazz. At that point, I could then replace different commands to use those specific voice lines (For example, "Cheers" could ONLY play one sequence and ONLY that sequence). I know it sounds complicated--but once it's setup, it would be easy to work with and it would make for a much higher standard. So--up to you guys.

I think UntouchedShadow/Rcksta ought to make a list of their official crew, who's doing what in terms of production. Cast is a different list. I have a Team Captain and am in the market for some Mutton Chops. If not, I do have an all-father, but I don't know if it looks police-y enough.

Give me a part doing something cool :downs:
I want to make a list of the crew, but I'm waiting for more people to join the TF2 Noire group so I know. I need people to tell me what they want to do. The max amount of actors we can have is 20. Voice actors will also be needed. The group currently only has 8 members. Join if you want to help: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TF2NoireSaxxy
This might sound crazy, but why don't we just make a Machinima. Seems like too much work for an attempt to get a Saxxy, whereas if we make a Machinima it would actually be worthwhile, and in the long run, good content means subscribers, and we can actually make even just a little (money) off this free time project. I'd prefer this over a bloody in-game Saxxy which no one cares about. I volunteer to edit the videos if this goes through.

EDIT: Though, quite frankly--it doesn't hurt to have some help. If you want, maybe you can handle that and I work with getting it going serverside.
I think I've posted about who I want to be playing enough. Though most of my recent posts are about that in case you somehow don't know, or if anyone is curious and didn't look at the last thread.

Anything film related made in a video game or video making software is machinima.

I'm not in this for the Saxxy - it's my first Facepunch collaborative project so it's just fun for me. :v: I'd call these projects more of a "practice" round rather than actual entries which probably wouldn't be accepted since they're made out of the actual event schedule. If we like an outcome of a video we can re-film it for the actual Saxxy Awards.

Do we need to do anything about standardizing equipment, software, or file types? I can't think of anything, at least.
probably wouldn't be accepted since they're made out of the actual event schedule.
Wait have we asked VALVe about that? Did they say that videos made before the actual event is announced won't be accepted? I hope not. And Markntosh, you seem interested in TF2 Noire. If you're willing to devote yourself, would you like to made a project leader? You wouldn't be going at it hardcore 24/7, I'd just need help keeping organized and managing the actors.
I assumed that last year they made the requirement because the replay editor was released when the Saxxys were. This year, the replay editor has existed for a year's time--therefore everything after the end of the first annual Saxxys should be eligible. I emailed Valve about it though to see if they'll give us a definite answer.

Even if they say the videos aren't eligible, we can still do this as practice and for fun. Once the real Saxxies roll around, we'll have had enough experience to pump out a good product for the awards.
In all honesty, I have a lot of existing commitments to consider, but I'd be delighted to help with the project however I can.
I'll put you down as a leader then. All you really have to do is check up on stuff here and there. It shouldn't take up a lot of your time. In the meantime, I'll wait for people to join the TF2 Noire group and then begin making the list of who does what. First order of business will be voice acting.
well still interested and still willing to help for acting.
Also: Would it be possible to out this on a youtube account we all have access to so if it breaks 1000 we all get the hat? There's no way I'm getting that thing otherwise. Unless I enter in the next saxxys, or I go to regionals in the Social study fair after deciding to make the TF2 video project.

Not for cuts or parts, mind you, but it would be a good idea to hear everyone's individual strengths and weaknesses in speaking and get an idea of what mic quality'll be.
I'll act any role involving Scout

That would also encourage individuals to come up with good project ideas that'd get chosen to be made into saxxy entries or films. [editline]b[/editline] Though by technicality, I don't think anything we're doing here would qualify for the achievement anyway, since, in order to get the achievement, the video has to be uploaded through TF2.

Also, that's probably a good idea--I was thinking that if we have two videos in the same category ,make it uploaded by a different person. Last year it was one video per category per person--so we can do multiple category submissions that way. Anyway, I'm out as far as uploading anything goes. I got my achievement of 1,000 last year by making finals.
I really don't care about that hat. I'm here to make a video that people will like. As for uploading...I guess I could do it. I'm not exactly famous, but I'm nearing 2000 subs so... When I get all the volunteers, I get on that. Hopefully by tomorrow there will be more members in the group and I can begin with the list. By the way Gamemaster, what category did you make it to the finals for?

Ah, I remember seeing "Jokes on you" three times before actually, but never the other. The coordination one does indeed deserve to win. Fists of shield? That's something right there.
